Waste of money! Total rip off

Waste of money….horrible tour! The tour guide Carlo was very arrogant and uninformed. He was not welcoming. The winery was subpar as we were not given any knowledge of the product or property as was expected. The food was stale and not edible. We paid a large amount of money for a terrible experience. Tried to contact tour company to let them know of our experience and no one responded. Save your money!

Response from the operator: Hello Julie, this is our feedback: a)Guide's name was not Carlo. b)The winery reported us you enjoyed lunch and bought six bottles of wine. c)The driver reported us you enjoyed the day and tipped him as well as the guide in Pompeii. d) Prior your web review revenge you begged us for full refund (rejected), then partial refund (rejected), finally a dispute by credit card (...rejected !).

    Climb aboard a time machine

We were lucky enough to have a great guide: Ugo. Very very good, nice, who with simple language, catapulted us back in time. It was just like getting into a time machine. Beautiful tour. Very satisfied we parents and even children Serenella

Response from the operator: L’effetto “catapulta” per un viaggio indietro nel tempo ancora non ce lo aveva scritto nessuno. Grazie per aver contribuito ad alimentare positivamente la nostra reputazione sul web

Great guide, great learning experience !

We had Julia (booked through Tour Guide Naples) as wonderful tour guide during our trip to Pompeii. My husband and I both learned a lot, and appreciated her ability to answer all of our questions concisely. (I hope that we didn't ask her TOO many questions!) In all, it was a great tour and due to the covid-19 pandemic the site was quite and peaceful not many people and we could visit a lot of places where we were almost alone. I really do hope to come soon again.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your message Kate, we really hope to re-start soon to work in this very difficult moment for the world travel industry

Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.

How much does Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting cost?

    +

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting take?

    +

Plan for about 6.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.

Is Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii with lunch and Wine tasting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sorrento?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sorrento?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
