Amazing private tour company with fabulous driver guides
Amazing experience with this company. Sarah was so prompt and easy to deal with via email in advance, and the drivers were all waiting for us ahead of time. We did 3 private tours: Florence and Pisa from Livorno cruise terminal; Rome from Civitavecchio cruise terminal; and Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast from Naples. All our driver guides were outstanding especially Claudio and Fabio and our guide for the Vatican - Chiara - was amazing and especially so with our 10 year old son. I was really nervous about using a private company in case we were late getting back to the ship but they couldn’t have been more helpful and confident in getting us back in ample time so I could relax. Would highly recommend and would use again.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and glowing review of your shore excursions! Managing logistics across three major ports—Livorno, Civitavecchio, and Naples—can feel overwhelming, so we are delighted to hear that everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Sarah will be so happy to know her quick communication gave you peace of mind before you even set sail. We will also be sure to pass along your wonderful compliments to Claudio, Fabio, and Chiara. Chiara will be especially touched to hear how much your 10-year-old son enjoyed the Vatican tour; making history engaging for younger travelers is something we take great pride in. We completely understand how stressful ship departure deadlines can be for cruise passengers, and we are glad our team could take that worry off your shoulders so you could simply relax and enjoy your time in Italy. Thank you again for placing your trust in us for all three of your port stops. We hope to welcome your family back for another adventure in the future!

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
