Our driver, Gaspare, was...
Our driver, Gaspare, was absolutely amazing! He was so caring, friendly, and informative — exactly the kind of person you want driving you around. He made us feel safe the whole time and even looked out for our belongings in the car. Truly, he was wonderful. Unfortunately, the VENDOR Gaspare works for really dropped the ball and set him up for failure. When we booked through Viator, the listing clearly said that all tickets were included — Pompeii, Herculaneum, the winery, and Mt. Vesuvius. But when Gaspare picked us up, he only had tickets for the winery and Mt. Vesuvius. Not long after leaving our hotel around 8:30 AM, Gaspare politely asked if we had our Pompeii and Herculaneum tickets ready. We were completely surprised — we told him the Viator listing said everything was included. I even showed him screenshots of our reservation. He contacted his company right away, but they told him that for this booking, they don’t buy the Pompeii and Herculaneum tickets — even though it clearly said otherwise online. They refused to honor what was listed. By then, it was around 8:45 AM, and the tickets were sold out for the day. You can imagine how frustrated we were. Gaspare, being the thoughtful guy he is, offered to take us to both sites anyway to see if we might get lucky and buy tickets at the gate. Thankfully, we were able to get in to both Pompeii and Herculaneum, and we made the best of it. The rest of the day — the winery visit and the Mt. Vesuvius hike — went smoothly since the vendor had actually provided those tickets. Bottom line is Gaspare was absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to help us. The problem was 100% with the VENDOR, who misrepresented what was included and didn’t take responsibility.

Is Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt Vesuvius, Winery Tasting & Lunch pack worth it?
+

How far in advance should I book Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt Vesuvius, Winery Tasting & Lunch pack?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
