Pompeii is an ancient Roman city located near Naples, Italy. The ruins of Pompeii offer a fascinating archaeological experience. As you walk through the ancient streets, you can witness the remarkably preserved buildings, including residential houses, shops, temples, theaters, and even a brothel. The intricate frescoes, mosaics, and statues that adorn these structures provide valuable insights into the art and culture of the time. Here, you can see the remains of the Basilica, a large public building, and the Temple of Jupiter, dedicated to the chief Roman deity.

    A great day!!

John was timely and very knowledgeable about all the areas we visited. He took us to a little village that was quaint called Ravello that was breathtaking. And then we proceeded to the Amalfi Coast where we had time to shop, eat and see the beach. After that we chose to do Pompeii and highly recommend getting a tour guide for the short amount of time you have there. The best preserved ruins we have ever seen. We lucked out with a great weather day.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback , We appreciate the time you spend to enhance the value of our job and our collaborators. Can’t wait to see you again in Naples

Outstanding Experience with Carmine – A True Gem in Naples!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible day on the From Ashes to Azure: Private Pompeii & Amalfi Coast tour, thanks to our wonderful guide, Carmine. He was patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable—an expert in the history, culture, and hidden gems of the Naples area. Carmine took the time to customize our tour based on what we wanted to see, and made sure we were comfortable and engaged throughout the entire day. His passion for the region was clear, and he shared so many interesting facts and stories that made our visit even more meaningful. We would absolutely use Carmine again and highly recommend him to anyone looking to see the best of Naples, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast with a personal touch. Don’t miss the chance to tour with him—you’ll leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for this beautiful region of Italy!

Response from the operator: I really appreciate your words , Thank you very much, very very much I cannot describe our gratitude. see you in Italy next time. Rosy and team

    Outstanding high level experience!

We booked private excursion to Amalfi Coast from Naples. Communication before and during was excellent. Picked us up directly at cruise port. Vehicle was nice Mercedes van. Driver was well, dressed and courteous and very professional. He had water ready for us on board. He asked us what we would like to do and planned our day around us. We decided not to do Pompeii this time but the driver provided a significant information about recent eruptions in the history that was very accurate as we drove around Mount Vesuvius. The small road to Amalfi is nothing short of extraordinary. However, it is not for the faint of heart and those intimidated by extreme height and somewhat treacherous windy mountain roads should consider carefully. There were many times we were looking over small stone wall over 500 foot cliffs with no visible bottom. But the views are jaw dropping. Trip was 1.5 hour one way from Naples port to Amalfi coast. Would do again.!!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salerno.

How much does Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno cost?

    +

Prices start at $87 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salerno usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salerno is not rushed.

Is Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 132 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salerno, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno?

    +

Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salerno can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salerno and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii Amalfi Drive from Salerno start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salerno within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Salerno?

    +

On Outty we rank every Salerno experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Amalfi Coast Experience from Sorrento, Naples or Salerno, Small-Group Amalfi Coast Day Cruise from Positano, Amalfi Coast Boat tour Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salerno?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salerno?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
