Wonderful guide; honest, punctual, calm, reliable, patient, knowledgeable. Speaks great English. Nice car.
We did a few excursions with Alex while in Zagreb: 1. Plitivice National Park; 2. Jasenovac concentration camp and Cigoc stalk village; 3. Transfer to Ljubljana, Slovenia. Alex is a great guide. He is honest, punctual, reliable, calm, informative, knowledgeable, speaks English perfectly, has a nice comfortable modern car. He is also efficient and very patient. My sister is 78 years old and walks slowly, especially in hilly areas. He planned our visit / route to Plitivice Park superbly. My sister managed to walk with no problem on the route Alex specially planned for us. We also asked him to plan a day tour to the Jasenovac concentration camp and to Cigoc the stalk village. We had a wonderful lunch there in a typical Croatian restaurant. Alex also agreed to add a section of Zagreb we were interested in visiting. He was also willing to drive us to Ljubljana in Slovenia, a 2 hour drive which was very convenient. I also asked him to take us to a gallery in Zagreb on the way and wait for us. We were so relieved that we found Alex as he made our visit so memorable with no problems. He is great. He made the trip so pleasant. We highly recommend him as a guide.

It was truly an honor to guide both you and your sister through the diverse experiences you wanted to explore. I'm thrilled to hear that the tailored routes, especially the one through Plitvice Park, were a comfortable fit for your sister. Your wonderful review means the world to me. It's always my aim to create memorable experiences for wonderful travelers like you, and I'm so glad I could deliver that for you. Looking forward to potentially crossing paths again on another adventure. Until then, take care and safe travels! All the best, Aleksandar

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zagreb.
How much does Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb cost?
+
Prices start at $295 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zagreb usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zagreb is not rushed.
Is Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Plitvice Lakes National Park - private day-trip from Zagreb start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zagreb within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zagreb?
+
On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zagreb?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zagreb?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
