★★★★★ One of the Most Fun Evenings of Our Trip!

If you're visiting Cusco, don't miss this experience! We had an absolute blast from beginning to end. Learning about pisco, crafting traditional Peruvian cocktails, and enjoying them together made for one of the most fun and memorable evenings of our trip. The true star of the experience, however, was our lead chef, Elvira. She was absolutely wonderful—warm, engaging, hilarious, and incredibly talented. Her energy was contagious, and she created an atmosphere where everyone felt welcome, relaxed, and ready to have fun. By the end of the evening, it felt like we were spending time with friends. As travelers who love bringing a destination home with us, we especially appreciated that the team emailed us an extensive collection of recipes after the experience. It was such a thoughtful touch and will allow us to recreate a little bit of Peru for our family and friends for years to come. Beyond the cocktails themselves, what made this experience so special was the genuine hospitality. We laughed, learned, and left with a much deeper appreciation for pisco, Peruvian culture, and the people who make it all so special. We were also touched to learn that a portion of the proceeds supports bird conservation efforts in Peru. Knowing our evening also contributes to protecting the country's incredible natural heritage made the experience even more meaningful. Thank you, Elvira, and the entire team, for such a joyful and unforgettable evening. This was one of the highlights of our time in Cusco, and we would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone visiting Peru!

An outstanding tasting experience.

Our host Christina was really special. There was a small scheduling issue with Viator, but Christina game my daughter and me a private tasting experience. She was very knowledgeable and adept. I'm a fairly confident home bar-tender, but pretty ignorant about the varieties of pisco. Not only did we learn a lot, but our host was gracious enough to entertain my suggestions. There was a large collection of pisco infusions to use in our drinks and we took advantage. Highly recommended.

So much more than a cocktail class

My wife and I did the pisco sour class at Marcelo Batata and it ended up being one of our favorite things in Cusco. Small, intimate group — we tasted different varieties of pisco, learned the history behind it, and made a couple of cocktails ourselves. What made it special was our instructor. It felt less like a class and more like hanging out with a longtime friend who also happened to give us a real glimpse into life in Peru. Nothing touristy or scripted about it. Only complaint: I wish it were longer so we could've made one more drink. Book it — you won't regret it.

Pisco Tasting

We had a great evening with Fernando. He not only gave us an interesting review of the history of Pisco, but he also taught us how to make two of Peru’s signature drinks: Pisco sour and Chilcano. We also got to taste different Pisco types, and learn their difference between them. Drinks were accompanied by tasty snacks and great conversation. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

Really fun evening...

Really fun evening learning about and tasting different types of Pisco. Then you get to mix your own cocktails from a variety of ingredients

Pisco Tasting Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Pisco Tasting Experience cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pisco Tasting Experience take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Pisco Tasting Experience worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pisco Tasting Experience?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pisco Tasting Experience suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Pisco Tasting Experience?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pisco Tasting Experience start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
