Very disappointed

Our guide Manoj had some knowledge but was not very organized. One example: he took us to Anand Bhavan in Prayagraj but mismanaged it. Indira Ganndhi's childhood home closes at 1 p.m.for lunch. We had reached at 12:30 but he took us to other part first and by the time we were done there it was 12::55 and we were denied entry as a result. Also at sangam, he had not arranged for a private boat as promised and started scrambling in a chaotic fashion. So we had to drop that too. Saving grace was the restaurant he picked for lunch. Our driver was good though. If one wants to book this tour make sure you get a professional, good English speaking guide who manages well. Very disappointed.

Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Sadashiv, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent experience on our Pilgrimage & History: Prayagraj Day Trip from Varanasi. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you faced during the tour. Please note that Manoj is a Government-licensed tour guide. I called the guide and received the following clarification. We understand that the Anand Bhavan visit was impacted by the lunch break, and we regret any inconvenience caused. The guide clarified that he reached Anand Bhavan at 12:30 and visited all galleries except Indira Gandhi's birthplace, where entry was restricted due to the lunch break. However, he managed the entry on request while another guard interrupted but allowed the entry, which irritated you, and you decided not to visit. We apologize for any frustration caused. Regarding the boat ride, the guide called me at the same time to inform that you are not going on a boat ride due to crowd and safety concerns. It's important to note that we have given clear instructions for a private boat ride, and there was no intention to provide a shared boat. We are well aware that there are only hand-pulled boats available in Prayagraj, there are no proper boat boarding points, and the situation is exacerbated during the overcrowded Magh Mela festival. As per your request, we instructed the guide to provide lunch in the best available pure veg restaurant in Prayagraj and suggested the restaurants Sagar Ratna / Pind Baluchi, the respected chain restaurants. I received the bill from the guide, and the lunch was provided at the best available pure vegetarian restaurant "Sagar Ratna," which is one of the most expensive and best available restaurants in Prayagraj. I remember you called me to cancel the booking one day before the tour, and for that, I asked you to cancel online or talk to Viator. Also, on my call and messages, you did not share any such issues during the tour to tackle the problem at the same time. After the tour, we deeply regret any frustration caused. If you have any further concerns or if there's anything else we can do to address your experience, please don't hesitate to contact us. Best Regards, Meenakshi
