Fantastic Ethical Sanctuary
Came here today for my 30th birthday whilst out in Thailand. We came at the 10am slot which I think was perfect for the heat! Beautiful Ethical Sanctuary, you can see the elephants roaming freely around from above. Oum our guide was lovely and really informative. The refreshing drink and elephant gift at the end was also really nice. Would highly recommend!

Brilliant experience
We had a wonderful morning at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary! We saw even more wildlife than expected and we were able to walk amongst the elephants at a respectful distance. Minnie was a fantastic guide and was able to answer every question. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Great experience
Very nice to see elephants in Thailand that aren’t forced to work, clearly enjoy their time here and don‘t interact with people on cue, but only if they want to. It is obvious the people here care deeply for the animals with the elephant hospital being free for all patients. Our guide Woody was very informative and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed our afternoon here!

Worth to come
Just an experience to understand more of elephants other than the tourism performance. So happy they can enjoy rest of their life at the Phuket Elephants Sanctuary.

Walk way elephant tour
Great experience, transfer was easy with good communication beforehand about timings. The sanctuary is beautiful and all the staff friendly and responsive. Our guide for the walkway tour was knowledgeable about all the elephants and great at her job, friendly and engaging. Opportunity to go down to the forest to get a closer view of some elephants was unexpected and a nice surprise. 90 minutes was perfect timing for us especially in the heat. At no point did we feel like we were invading the elephants space and felt like a positive ethical solution to seeing these fabulous animals whilst also supporting their care after enduring such sad treatment before coming into the sanctuary. The story behind the bull elephant being treated for a broken leg left me with mixed emotions knowing that he will go back to logging if successfully treated, felt counterintuitive to what the ethos of the sanctuary is about. Nice to know that the sanctuary is evolving though and has recently stopped tourists hand feeding for the benefit of the elephants. Would recommend to others 🙂

Why this scores 89
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 708 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour?
+
Around 248 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Canopy Walkway Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
