Wow what an experience and learnt so much too.

Wow what an amazing experience. I have travelled to Glenorchy before but Glen new exactly where to stop to capture amazing shots. We felt like storm chasers, getting the best shot before a storm. Absolutely can not recommend Glen and this tour highly enough, we didn't just come away with some amazing shots, we learnt so much and made a great friend in the process. I've done many tours but this one is by far the best we have done. Thanks Glen for everything :)

Response from the operator: Hey thank you that's a fantastic review it's very appreciated it was great going on adventure with you two and we really did chase the storms but it worked out beautifully those clouds were truly epic!

Visit and photograph spectacular scenery with Glen providing amazing guidance on capturing beautiful photos

What an amazing morning visiting and photographing spectacular scenery around Glenorchy. Glen was super friendly and provided brilliant advice on how to capture truely beautiful photos. As a novice photographer with a new camera, I greatly appreciated Glen’s expertise, patience and willingness to teach. I finished the tour with some amazing shots and far more confidence in using my new camera (no longer just on Auto mode!). I’d definitely love to do another tour in the future. Thank you Glen!

Response from the operator: I great day at the office, a pleasure showing off Glenorchy on such an amazing day, looking forward to seeing you on the next tour. Thank you 🙏🏼

You don’t need a fancy camera

I started this tour feeling worried because I didn’t have a professional camera—just my iPhone, which I usually use for photos. Glen immediately reassured me that it wasn’t an issue at all and that he could guide me in making the most out of it. Glen is absolutely amazing. He’s warm, kind, and incredibly easy to talk to. There were no awkward moments during the drive to Glenorchy, where the shoot took place. Along the way, he shared tips on photography in such a natural and engaging way—it felt more like a conversation than a lesson, which made it easy to learn without feeling overwhelmed. Even though it was only a half-day tour, it was more than enough to help me understand how to fully utilize what I have and improve the way I take photos. He also had a well-thought-out itinerary. It wasn’t rigid, but he made sure we covered key locations and timed everything so we could experience and capture truly spectacular views. If I hadn’t taken this tour, I would have never witnessed such a stunning sky—the way it shifted into deep reds, oranges, and other colors was unforgettable. Apparently, that day was something special. Glen clearly puts a lot of thought into timing and location, and you can really see his passion for photography. It doesn’t feel like he’s just doing this as a job—he genuinely loves what he does, and that passion comes through in the entire experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you’re using a professional camera or just your phone.

Response from the operator: One of the nicest reviews I've ever had, thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest review. It was just lovely sharing an adventure with you looking forward to the next one 🙏🏼

How long does Photography Tour from Queenstown to Glenorchy - 1/2 Day take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Queenstown is not rushed.

Is Photography Tour from Queenstown to Glenorchy - 1/2 Day worth it?

+

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 37 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Queenstown, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Photography Tour from Queenstown to Glenorchy - 1/2 Day?

How far in advance should I book Photography Tour from Queenstown to Glenorchy - 1/2 Day?

+

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Queenstown and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Queenstown?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Queenstown?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
