Opened in 1929 during the city’s entertainment boom, the Orpheum Theatre has long been a hotspot for unexplained activity, from ghostly footsteps to mysterious lights seen by staff and performers. But it’s not just the history that makes this stop unforgettable, it’s the stories. Guests will hear about “Maddie,” the theater’s most famous spirit, said to quietly “shush” anyone disrupting her space.

Tucked away in downtown Phoenix, Melinda’s Alley is one of the city’s most chilling urban legends. Said to be the site of a violent murder more than a century ago, this narrow passageway is known for reports of whispers, sudden cold spots, and an overwhelming sense of unease. The story of Melinda, whose tragic end still echoes here, adds a deeply personal and emotional layer to this stop, making it one of the most memorable on the tour.

Frequently named one of the most haunted hotels in the United States, the Hotel San Carlos is the crown jewel of Phoenix paranormal lore. Opened in 1928, it’s best known for the tragic story of Leone Jensen, whose spirit is said to still roam the halls. Guests will hear chilling accounts of sightings, unexplained noises, and eerie encounters reported by visitors and staff alike, including the infamous “woman in white.”

As the oldest Catholic church in Phoenix, St. Mary’s Basilica offers a different kind of haunting, one rooted in mystery and legend. Dating back to the late 1800s, the site has long been associated with eerie sightings, including reports of headless figures appearing near the church at night. The combination of sacred space and unexplained phenomena creates an unforgettable atmosphere that lingers long after the story ends.

Ghost tours but not much of a pub crawl
Tour guide was very fun and good story teller. We had a great time. As a straight ghost tour I would say it was great. Took the point off because it’s not really a pub crawl we were only able to order a drink at 2 of the bars because one was closed and the other didn’t know we were coming so they let us in to look around but we could not stay.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that your guide was fun, a great storyteller, and that you enjoyed the ghost tour portion of the evening. Our haunted pub crawls are intended to include time at multiple bar locations, and we understand the disappointment when a venue is closed or unable to accommodate the group as expected. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can review the route and bar communication with our team!

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phoenix.
How much does Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phoenix usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phoenix is not rushed.
Is Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phoenix, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phoenix can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phoenix and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Phoenix Haunted Pub Crawl Spirits, Stories and Sips start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phoenix within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phoenix?
+
Phoenix runs on desert experiences: sunrise hot air balloon lifts over the Sonoran, Camelback and South Mountain hikes, off-road Tonto Forest tours and day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Heat safety and start times decide whether a tour is good, so we weight timing detail in the ranking. On Outty we rank every Phoenix experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayaking the Salt River Foxtail Trip, Small-Group or Private Grand Canyon with Sedona Tour from Phoenix, Grand Canyon with Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon Van Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phoenix?
+
November to April. Summer tours run at dawn or not at all. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phoenix?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
