Amazing Visit to Petra and the Dead Sea

Our visit in Jordan was amazing! We travelled to Petra from Amman by luxury coach and then to the Dead Sea for our last day in Jordon. Our tour guide, Omar, did an excellent job of explaining in detail all of the historical and mythological background for all that we saw. Petra was fabulous - more than we’d ever imagined! This was the trip of a lifetime! We would highly recommend it.

A day to cherish as a memory

First of all, my compliments to my driver Marwan Khawaja and the guide in Petra, they helped make it a fantastic day. Petra is impressive, a marvellous sight and definitely worth a visit. It’s incredible that so long ago, people created something so beautiful with such precision. The journey from Petra to the Dead Sea is an experience in itself, with stunning landscapes, beautiful views and colours. I wasn’t bored for a single minute. I just wanted to see the Dead Sea once and lie in it, a very unique (and salty) experience, you simply float and will probably have to be careful not to fall asleep. In short, a day to cherish as a memory.

Response from the operator: Dear Frank, Thank you for sharing such a vivid account of your day. Petra and the Dead Sea make for a truly memorable combination, and we are delighted that the journey itself, with its changing landscapes and views, was just as enjoyable as the destinations. We especially appreciate your kind words about Marwan Khawaja and your Petra guide. We will be very happy to pass your compliments on to them. It is wonderful to know that this became a day you will cherish, and we thank you for choosing Jordan Horizons Tours to be part of it. Best regards, The Jordan Horizons Tours Excursions Team

Short stay but great trip and never to be forgotten memories

We had only two full days in Amman but we had fantastic visits to Jarash & Dead Sea on day 1 and Petra on day 2. Our private tour was very meticulously organised by Jordan Horizons Tours. The tour guide Samir at Jarash speaks very good English and has 35 years of experience in the job. His guidance was in detail and at a pace exactly what we needed. Petra tour had been a remarkable one with a very young guide Shaker. He is very polite and has caring attitude. He is an excellent photographer too. He has taken a few photos of us with great skills that will remain in our album forever. Very pleased with the driver Amjad who was with us on both days. Aida from Jordan Horizons Tour was available at all times for any information and help we needed. Thank you Aida. We are leaving Amman with great memories never to be forgotten.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re delighted you enjoyed Jarash, Petra, and the Dead Sea. Aida, Amjad, Samir, and Shaker all send their regards. Your kind words mean a lot and we’re honored to be part of your journey. — Sales Team of Jordan Horizons Tours

    A Memorable Holiday in Jordan

We had a wonderful three day holiday in Jordan thanks to Aida and her team. We had a car and a driver Mr Hisham to ourselves. Mr Hisham was a very good driver cum guide. On Day-1 we visited Ajloun Castle, Jerash & Amman city. On Day-2, we visited Petra and Wasi Rum. In fact we spent the night in a Bedouin style camp in the desert. It was a wonderful experience. Our guide in Petra was really good and very helpful. On Day-3, we visited the Dead Sea Resort and took a dip in the Dead Sea.

Response from the operator: We are thrilled to hear you had a wonderful three-day holiday with us! It's great to know that Aida and Mr. Hisham were able to make your trip memorable. Thank you for sharing your experience! Best Regards; Jordan Horizons Tours (JHT) Jordan - Amman

Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.

How much does Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman cost?

    +

Prices start at $600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amman is not rushed.

Is Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Petra and Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amman?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Amman: Petra and Wadi rum Private/Group Full day Tour, From Amman :Private or Group Full day tour to Petra, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea 4 Days 3 nights. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amman?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amman?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
