Beautiful day for a hike!
This was a strenuous hike, all up hill. The view at the top made it worth the hike. Also nice restaurants at the top. We took the gondola down.

An outstanding day to spend the morning!
Our hike leader was Tomislov who picked us up on time and drove us to the trailhead. He provided an overview of our hike on the drive. The approx 5 mile hike starts through a tunnel then the journeys onto a single track trail. This is a hike so be aware that there are roots, rocks and some fallen trees along the way. Tomislov kept a good pace and checked with us regularly. There are a few steep sections so be prepared. Tomislov was an outstanding guide, shared information about Zagreb, the mountains and Croatia along the way. After buying refreshments at the top we elected to take the gondola down ( vs hiking back down). Highly recommend this hike if you are a hiker. The views and woods are fantastic. It is a nice way to spend time outdoors and away from the crowds/city.

Beautiful and challenging hike
The hike was beautiful and the views were amazing! The guide was extremely kind and accommodating, she taught us some Croatian and told us about some of the local plants and animals, as well as the history of the mountain. It wasn’t an easy hike, but it was very rewarding. I would highly recommend hiking this mountain with a guide, as I doubt we would have found our way through it without the help of a guide.

Great experience, lovely forest trek.
Very enjoyable trek up to the highest point of Sljeme. Very good communication before the tour . Tomas was an excellent guide, he chose a trek of approx 2 hrs up through the forest to the summit approx 700 m elevation. There we had a typical Croatian lunch with great views. Restaurants prices were reasonable. My friend was tired so we took the gondola down instead of trekking, so if you don't want to strain at all, take the gondola up 10 e ticket and walk down Tips: trekking poles came in useful. Try booking during the week so there are less people around. Lovely greenery away from the city Highly recommend Tomas and his company! Thank you!

Fun day with Tom hiking to the top of Medvednica mountain. Tom has a great knowledge of the history of the area and the country. I would highly recommend!
Response from the operator: We are glad to hear you enjoyed Medvednica and had fun with our guide Tom. Thank you for your review and recommendation!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zagreb.
How much does Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking cost?
+
Prices start at $104 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zagreb usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zagreb is not rushed.
Is Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Perceive Zagreb Like a Local - Medvednica Nature Park Hiking start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zagreb within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zagreb?
+
On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zagreb?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zagreb?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
