Day well spent amidst nature and animals!
An amazing experience for nature lovers and people wishing to see and interact with indigenous animals from Australia. From picturesque beaches to Kangaroos, Wallabies & Koalas, to the highlight of the tour - Penguins!, the tour is a fulfilling experience. We were hosted by Cloe from the Go West Tours team and she was a delight. Hugely supportive with helpful hints to make the most of our experience, heavily knowledgeable on places & thier history and doing it all with a bright smile 😊. Thank you Cloe for making my visit to Philipp Island memorable. A must do for nature enthusiasts like me!

Outstanding experience with a superb tour guide
When I first saw Go West Tours’ perfect 4.9 star rating, I was a little sceptical. Sadly, experience has taught me that such flawless scores can occasionally be somewhat 'engineered'. Now I understand it: Go West Tours genuinely is a 5* travel and experience provider, and I can wholeheartedly support that based on my Phillip Island tour last week! From the moment our tour bus arrived (right on the dot) to the moment we stepped off 11 hours later, the entire experience was first-rate. Sherif is an absolute gem. He made us feel completely at home, both on the bus and throughout the tour. His natural cheerfulness, kindness, enthusiasm, wit, humour and care shone through at every moment, yet never felt forced or rehearsed. He is simply a lovely human being who, I am sure, endeared himself to every one of us. One moment I certainly won’t forget was when Sherif unexpectedly pulled out his didgeridoo and began filling the bus with therapeutic—and immensely entertaining—tunes. It was one of the real highlights of the day and captured Sherif’s character perfectly in my opinion. The pace of the tour was very well balanced and never felt rushed. Even when a few of us returned to the bus slightly late, having become rather carried away admiring the colourful Brighton bathing boxes and the rugged scenery surrounding the Phillip Island boardwalks, Sherif was never stern or annoyed. He remained kind, patient and accommodating. All in all, I highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to step outside Melbourne and experience Victoria’s beautiful countryside, including of course the penguins. And a little pro tip: opt for the Penguins Plus viewing platform rather than the general viewing grandstand. The much better view is well worth the upgrade, particularly when penguin numbers are lower because of the weather, or, as in our case, because vaccinations were being performed on the cute lil creatures. Thank you, Sherif, and thank you, Go West Tours, for such a memorable and fun experience. It fully deserves every one of its five stars!

Wonderful tour! Would do again
Heard about the penguin parade and decided to book this tour. Throughout the day we learned about the history of Australia, met some wallabies, wandered boardwalks along cliffs, and of course saw the cutest penguins in the world during their nightly parade! We had a good amount of time at each stop, nothing felt too long or too short. Our guide, Mark K, was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, happy to answer any questions, and created a great experience. He also took some great pictures for us! (And shout-out to his wonderful co-pilot, Harry!) So glad we decided to do this tour and highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the fantastic review! We’re really glad you decided to book the Phillip Island tour and that you had such a great day from start to finish. 🐧 It sounds like you got a wonderful mix of experiences — learning a bit about Australia, meeting the wallabies, taking in those coastal views and then finishing the day with the penguins. And it’s great to hear that the time at each stop felt just right too! We’re especially happy to hear that Mark K made the day so enjoyable with his knowledge, humour and willingness to help out with questions and photos. And of course, a big shout-out right back to Harry! 😄 Sounds like they made a great team. We’ll make sure they both see your lovely words. Thanks again for spending the day with us — we’re so glad the little penguins were the highlight they’re meant to be! 🐧✨

Why this scores 92
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Melbourne.
How much does Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne cost?
+
Prices start at $128 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Melbourne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Melbourne is not rushed.
Is Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 92 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 4,065 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Melbourne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne?
+
Around 1,423 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Melbourne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Melbourne and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Melbourne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Melbourne?
+
On Outty we rank every Melbourne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Melbourne: Yarra Valley Wine, Gin, Whisky and Chocolate Tour, Yarra Valley Wine Tour w Exclusive Gin, Cider & Chocolate Tasting, Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne - Choc, Gin & Good Times. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Melbourne?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Melbourne?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
