You need to see it!
I've never taken so many pictures in one trip. Amazing place. Our guide, Daniel was great!
Response from the operator: That’s the Guatapé effect! Between those vibrant zócalos in the town and the 360° views from the top of the Rock, it’s basically impossible to put the camera down. We’re so glad Daniel was there to bring the whole experience to life and make sure you didn't miss a single iconic shot! When you’re ready to fill up your phone’s memory card all over again, we’d love to take you through the incredible street art of Comuna 13 or ride through the stunning lush landscapes on our Coffee Tour. Thanks a ton for snapping memories with Aeroturex—until next time! 📸⛰️

Great value
Great value trip, lunch was good, saw a lot of cool things and cool views, as well as learned a lot. Daniel was a solid guide and Alejandro was the best driver ever, we popped a tire on the way there and had to wait for another bus, but he still made it to Guatape on time.
Response from the operator: Now that is what we call absolute rockstar logistics! Alejandro handling that tire situation like an absolute legend to get you to Guatapé right on schedule—without missing a single beat or view—is the exact hustle and dedication we live for at Aeroturex. And paired with Daniel's solid insights, great food, and killer views, it sounds like an adventure for the books! When you're ready to stack up more incredible views and top-tier value, we’d love to take you high into the mountains for the Coffee Tour or dive straight into the vibrant energy of the Comuna 13 experience. Huge thanks for shouting out the team's quick recovery and for rolling with us! 🛞💥⛰️

Tour and value of it was awesome, tour guide…not so much.
My group and I were a party of 5 total. We wanted to rent the 5 seater jeep experience when it came to La Manuela (the Pablo Escobar experience) and were told that it was not available because a party of 2 rented it out already, but that I could rent out 2-3 ATVs that seated 2-3 people. I asked her why would she allow that knowing when we checked in at the meeting location that she had 2 groups of 4+ people. She said there was nothing she could do. Regardless, I ended up booking the 2 ATVs as it was a hot and humid day. But when we arrived, our tour guide didn’t even give us proper instructions of who was our tour guide or where to go. We ended up being approached by one of the guides asking who’s group we belonged to because we weren’t standing in any of the 2 groups (we were off to the side standing around since we weren’t given instruction). At EVERY stop on this trip (and I mean EVERY), the same woman who purchased the 5 seater jeep for a party of 2 was late to the bus to continue on to the next location. Everyone was complaining about this and nothing was done. But mind you with every location she was late to return to the bus for, was time lost at the next place. The bus driver was even annoyed, as I overheard him telling our tour guide in Spanish that we were behind schedule and to be more firm with the group on timeframes…yet everyone but this one party was at the bus early, if not, on time. To the point where once we got to the peñol it was 708 steps each way up and down, and we were only given 40 mins to do that and return to the bus. That’s how much time was lost from this woman taking her time returning to from the alpaca stop, La Manuela stop (which we waited for her daughter to arrive to the boat late giggling with one of the tour guides who gave her a separate tour and blew her kisses as the boat took off), and so on. She must have tipped her a good tip or known her personally to let her run her our tour at her own leisure at the cost of everybody else. Had she been more strict with timeframes, this tour would have been 5/5 all around. The value for everything you get to see is great. Hopefully they see this review and put this into consideration.
Response from the operator: It means a lot that you took the time to write such a detailed, honest breakdown of your trip. Knowing that you found the actual tour value and sights awesome—even with the frustrating moments—is something we truly appreciate, and we want to thank you for bringing every single one of these details to light. Your feedback about the vehicle organization, the lack of clear direction at the ATV stop, and the severe lack of time enforcement from the guide is extremely serious. It is never okay for one party's tardiness to eat into everyone else’s hard-earned time at major stops like El Peñol, nor should anyone ever feel left hanging without clear instructions. Please rest assured that we are taking this report straight to our operations team. We are actively investigating and validating what happened with the guides on duty regarding group logistics, time management, and professional standards during that run. Thorough reports like yours are precisely what allow us to hold our staff accountable and make immediate structural fixes. Thank you again for helping us step up our service. We’re glad the overall route and value made a strong impression, and we’re on it to make sure the guiding quality matches that same standard every single time.

So good. me and my friends had the best time
Response from the operator: ¡Guatapé always delivers, and knowing that you and your friends had the absolute best time makes us so happy! It was a great tour. Cesar and Alejandro were great guides. They waited for all of us to get to and from the stops. It was very entertaining and so worth the money. Thank you Alejandro & Cesar.
Response from the operator: Awesome news! Hearing that Cesar and Alejandro were so patient, entertaining, and attentive makes our day. Knowing you felt it was 100% worth every penny is the absolute best compliment. We’ll be sure to pass along your big thank you to both of them! Since you've now conquered the colorful streets and epic views of Guatapé, your next perfect trip for tours in Medellín is diving into the local flavor with the Gastrochiva, or enjoying a relaxing day tasting authentic brews on the Coffee Tour. Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Medellín.
How much does Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Medellín usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Medellín is not rushed.
Is Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 577 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Medellín, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour?
+
Around 202 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Medellín can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Medellín and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Peñol Stone and Pablo Escobar Hacienda Boat Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Medellín within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Medellín?
+
On Outty we rank every Medellín experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guatapé Tour: Piedra del Peñol with Boat Tour, Breakfast, Lunch, Half-Day Coffee Tour: From the Seed to the Cup, Farm & roastery, Private Guatape & Coffee Farm Tour: The Two Must do in One Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Medellín?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Medellín?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
