About this experience

This tour will take us to the major sites of the Peloponnese, both ancient and modern, from the Homeric city of Mycenae, to Epidauros, Palamidi Castle in Nafplio and the Corinth Canal. The kingdom of Mycenae was one of the first great centres of the Greek culture; settlement on this site dates back to the second millennium BC. According to Homer, Mycenae was the seat of Agamemnon, who led the Greeks against the Trojans to take back Helen, the wife of his brother Menelaus. You will see the Lion Gate, which formed the entrance to the royal court and palace. We will also travel to Epidaurus and see the world-renowned Epidaurus theatre. Built in the 4th century BC, it is famous for its acoustics, which are so perfect that words spoken on stage can be heard perfectly wherever you are in the audience. Stepping forward in history, we will see the Palamidi Castle in Nafplio, built by the Venetians and famous for supposedly having 999 steps.

Stepping forward in history, we will see the Palamidi Castle in Nafplio, built by the Venetians and famous for supposedly having 999 steps. 4. Mycenae

Mycenae was the seat of Agamemnon, who led the Greeks against the Trojans to take back Helen, the wife of his brother Menelaus. Exciting, informative, and accommodating tour

I attended this tour with my wife on our dream vacation to Greece. Our driver not only took us to see a multitude of sights that we would have never known to visit otherwise, but also made sure to accommodate any specific needs that we had. For instance, my wife and I each had to take PCR tests in advance of an upcoming flight; our driver went ahead and took us to a local clinic to have our samples taken so that we could focus on sightseeing with no distractions. My personal favorite destination was the Epidaurus theater. My wife and I took turns speaking from the stage seeing how well the other could hear from the stands. Five stars. Will recommend to any tourists traveling to Greece.

Purrfect ;) One Day Trip to Peloponesse

Me and My Husband booked a Day Travel to Peloponesse with Cattaxi. Like other newbie travelers, we searched best tour through TripAdvisor - one by one i read the tour package highlights and other guests experiences, then we decided to go with CatTaxi. Guess what? It turned out after full day trip to Peloponesse, we booked another trip in Athens for the next day! We were glad to have a wonderful and knowledgeable service from Mr.Terry, that along the road he explained sites that we’re going to visit, like Corinth Canal, Theater of Epidavros and Napflia and Archaeological site of Mycenae. He even gave us an insight of local food at the trip! What a Plus Plus Plus , my husband totally happy with his service! We will be having another great time tomorrow! Thank you CatTaxi for all the accommodations, and Mr.Terry for the excellent service :) We would not forget our excellent first trip together! For Travelers who see my review and hasn’t decided to use any of tours in Athens, I suggest believe on the reviews. You’ll thankful when you have guidance from local. Oh did I mentioned that Mr. Terry gave his time to accommodate our schedule of Covid PCR test we would need to fly back to US? And he also gave us a precious upgrade with the vehicle, of course it doesn’t always be an upgrade, we were so lucky! He is the right person to give anyone the ultimate travel experience around Athens and surrounding! Good luck!

Terry knows his stuff

Terry was our driver that picked us up at the airport on our first day in Athens. He was so helpful on that first day letting us know the sites to see and some of the history of Greece. He let us know about the excursions that his company offers and when we were returning to Athens from Santorini we called him and set up this tour for when we got back. The trip was very amazing, Terry is a great person to take you around to the many sites. He would then give us an overview of where to go in the historical sites we visited and what we would see there, and also the history of the site. This was a great trip especially if you are looking for something outside of the big city. We were never rushed to get out of the sites and also had plenty of time to explore Napfloi for lunch and shopping.

Terry brings Greece all together

We had an excellent tour of the northern Peloponnese with Terry. His excellent American accented English made it easy to talk about current life in Greece as well as the ancient history. Learning of our interest in gardening he arranged a visit to a vineyard on the spot. He was also fine with returning to Athens early when we decided we had enough for the day.

Peloponnese Tour (Full Day): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Peloponnese Tour (Full Day) cost?

+

Prices start at $750 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Peloponnese Tour (Full Day) take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Peloponnese Tour (Full Day) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Peloponnese Tour (Full Day)?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Peloponnese Tour (Full Day) suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Peloponnese Tour (Full Day)?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Peloponnese Tour (Full Day) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

+

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
