Brilliant tour. Beautiful locations. Not quite long enough in Mahone Bay though.
This tour was brilliant and both the guide and the driver were very informative. The places visited were well worth visiting and I’d definitely recommend. The only slight negative was that this tour included mostly cruise ship passengers from 3 different ships, and so had to wait for them to arrive from their respective ships, which meant departing a little late, but also, due to each ships schedule, we had to be back at the drop-off at the port earlier than we were originally meant to be. This, therefore, meant that time in at least one of the locations (Mahone Bay in particular) was cut short, and that location definitely warranted an additional 30 minutes exploration. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the sites and am deservedly giving it 5 stars still.

Great day trip but you do not get the advertised time in Lunenburg or Mahone Bay.
It is a real shame that I am only giving a score of 2 but that is 100% the fault of Jonathan, the tour organiser for Aberdeen Bus Tours. After picking us up from our hotel, we then waited for an hour in a car park for cruise ship passengers to arrive. Our actual tour driver (Mike) and guide (Stephen) were both excelent. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful throughout the day. Unfortunately, when we arrived in Lunenburg, we were told we only had an hour there because the cruise ship passengers had to get back early. I was furious that the advertised two hours was cut short to only an hour. This is not long enough to see the sights in the town. Then we went to Mahone Bay where we were told we only had 20 minutes instead of the advertised 30 minutes. Stepen then apologised and said we would only get 45 minutes in Peggy's Cove instead of the advertised 1 hour. However, Mike took a short cut and we were able to have the full hour there. When we arrived back in Halifax, we told Jonathan were were not happy and he was incredibly rude and kicked us off his bus saying he would give no compensation or partial refund. What is really annoying is that we actually booked for the previous day but Jonathan told us we had to go a day later. So we changed our Halifax plans to accommodate him. We were not informed of the changed schedule and the fact we would get lest time at the destinations due to the cruise ship passengers. If we had known this, we would not have gone on the trip. For the money we paid, we have been cheated out of about a third of the actual value for the trip. Do not book with Jonathan or Aberdeen Bus Tours.

We also have to shave off about 20 mins from your stay in Lunenburg as we have some of the folks from the cruise ship. A local historian, tour guide and comedian
What a fabulous day of touring with our lovely guide Jonathan. Jonathan was not just a guide and driver, but a local historian, comedian and entertainer all rolled up in one! We toured Halifax, had syrup tastings, saw the Titanic cemetery, Peggy’s Cove topped off with a fabulous lobster roll and chowder at a local diner. Jonathan is a beautiful person who was passionate about everything life has to offer including his job as a tour guide! “If you live what you do, you never work a day in your life”! That’s Jonathan!
