    About this experience

Get ready to explore one of the most stunning hiking trails in the world, the Path of the Gods. Your adventure begins with a comfortable transfer from Sorrento, bringing you to the Amalfi Coast where the hike begins. As you trek along the path, you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the glittering coastline. The trail follows ancient mule tracks that once connected the hamlet of Nocelle near Positano with Bomerano, in Agerola. Named for the spectacular beauty that surrounds it, the Path of the Gods is a magical spot that has captivated hikers for generations. The trail winds through terraced slopes, past abandoned farmhouses, and across Mediterranean scrubland. Along the way, you may encounter shepherds with their mules, as well as glimpses of wildlife like kestrels, peregrine falcons, and lizards. In spring, the path is adorned with vibrant orchids, heather, and myrtle.

    A Must-Do Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience

This was an amazing experience walking The Path of the Gods with Nino. The views were breathtaking and it was a wonderful way to see a part of the World that is so beautiful. Nino made the experience really special by providing a narrative as we walked, showing us herbs and fruits, and introducing us to Antonio, a goat shepherd and amazing cook! Antonio provided us with a delicious lunch and musical entertainment. It was a real pleasure to sit outside his home and be treated to these gifts. If you are visiting Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast area, this is a "must-do" once-in-a-lifetime experience.

    Atop the Amalfi Coast

Our family of 4 really enjoyed this hiking tour of the Gods! The views were absolutely breathtaking! The hike was adventurous and our guide provided the history of the land we trekked through. We enjoyed a surprise tasting from the Shepard’s kitchen up on the trail overlooking the sea and village below! An overall spectacular day atop the Amalfi coast.

One off the bucket list!!! Amazing 👏

Absolutely first class. Had wanted to complete this trip for months and was in full panic when my train was late at Meta to meet the guide in Sorrento. I called the office and explained..not only dis the group wait for me, they sent Roberto who gave me a lift in the basket of his bike up the avenue in Sorrento to meet everyone. Talk about arriving in style!!. Nino was amazing as a guide, so informative not just about the actual Path of the Gods but about the surrounding area and Italy itself. The Path is spectacular, the natural terrain, plants, animals and of course the wonderful shepherd. Lunch was unreal. The hike itself was duelling in the heat but we trucked on. The views were fabulous and it was tough going at times. Without hesitation I would throughly recommend this trip, wear hiking shoes though and plenty of water. Loved it and thank you.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, Thank you so much for this incredible review! When delays happen, our team’s top priority is making sure no one gets left behind! We are so proud of our office staff for coordinating everything so quickly and efficiently to keep your day stress-free. As for Roberto giving you a ride in his bike basket straight up the avenue: that is definitely what we call arriving in style! Nino will be overjoyed by your kind words. His passion for the Path of the Gods, local wildlife, and Italian culture is truly top-notch. We are so glad you tackled the heat, enjoyed the meeting with the shepherd, and refueled with that unreal lunch while taking in those jaw-dropping views! Thank you also for sharing the great advice on proper hiking shoes and hydration. Thank you again for trusting our team with your day, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon! Best regards, The IAMME IA! Gray Line Team

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sorrento?

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
