Could have been better
In this instance the Guide asked what we wanted to see and so we told her the ‘tourist’ sites since this our first trip to Paris…and the sites we actually wanted to see…she said too far given our tour was only 2 hours. Additionally English was not the Guide’s first language so was a struggle to understand what she was saying.
Response from the operator: Hello, it would be nice if you actually told the truth in your review and did not make things up. Your comments are very misleading and inappropriate. Let's get the facts straight: You booked only 2 hours for this tour and expected to be shown all the main highlights of Paris. It is impossible in only 2 hours! Of course, some highlights were too far away to be done in only 2 hours. You did not want to pay for a 6 or 8-hour tour but expected to be shown all the main tourist sites of Paris in only 2 hours. This is extremely unreasonable. Despite only a 2-hour tour, plus 20 minutes overtime that the guide did for you, you were shown the following places: Notre Dame, Louvre, Place de La Concorde, Madeleine Curch, Place Vendôme, Opera and many other things in between where you passed by. Of course, it was not possible to see places which are far away! Regarding the complaint about the language of the tour guide: You are in Paris, not in the USA! English is not the first language in Paris, so it is normal that people have accents. Your tour guide Juliette speaks excellent English and has a wealth of experience guiding tours. She does not have a strong accent at all. You claim that it was a struggle to understand her, but you chatted happily with her during the whole tour. How does this make sense?

Our guide Juliette was...
Our guide Juliette was very pleasant to engage with, very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. It was a wonderful experience!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!

A waste of money
The guide was only interested in discussing his main business of running an AirBNB. Literally had to ask him questions when passing landmarks and he clearly did not have knowledge one would expect when paying for a private tour.
Response from the operator: We don't appreciate the lies and exaggerations in your review. The guide just mentioned his Airbnb business briefly. We understand you wanted a refund and a free tour, but we have rejected this. Of course, this is part of the reason why you got angry and wrote a bad review. Your bad review and your lies were part of your strategy to pressure us into refunding you. Just because you did not like the service, this is not a reason for a refund. In Europe, it does not work like that. You can try these things in your own country USA. You completed the whole length of the tour and even gave the guide 70 EUR tips, which is generous and certainly not something you give if the tour is bad. Regarding the knowledge of the guide: I recommend you read the tour description before you book something. It is clearly written that this is not a tour with a professional tour guide. But you expected a professional tour guide. The price of this tour is very cheap, so it is not fair to complain that the service was not like a professional tour guide. In fact, this guide is one of our best and he has received countless 5-star reviews on various platforms. This is the first time we have received a bad review for him. We can only provide a service according to the tour description. We can't provide a professional tour guide because you expect one. So next time, please read properly before you pay.

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Paris Private Walking Tour with a Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
