A Delicious Highlight of Our Paris Birthday Celebration
Guiding a group of six women around Paris for six days to celebrate one woman’s 70th birthday was an unforgettable experience, and one of her wishes for the trip was to take a cooking class. After reviewing several options on Viator, I selected Le Foodist because it combined a market experience with the cooking class, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Everything about the experience was outstanding. Chef Paulo was not only knowledgeable and skilled in selecting the ingredients and guiding us through the preparation, but his energy, personality, and hands-on approach made the entire experience engaging and memorable. Of all the experiences we enjoyed during our time in Paris, this was one of the absolute favorites for the ladies. I would highly recommend Le Foodist to anyone visiting Paris, whether you are traveling with friends, celebrating a special occasion, or even traveling solo. It is a wonderful way to experience French food, culture, and the joy of cooking together.

A great experience
Phenomenal! The whole experience was amazing, and the food we cooked was delicious
Response from the operator: Bonjour Sedona, thank you for your phenomenal review of your Cooking Class in Paris at Le Foodist! Cheers Fred

Excellent value for money
Definitely one of the best cooking experiences we've ever had. A lot of cooking classes either feel too easy or the chef just does everything for you. This class was perfectly adjusted, never felt too difficult but you were learning lots of new techniques and ingredients. Frédéric was wonderful, very knowledgable about the kitchen and extremely friendly. Don't think our group would have laughed half as much without him.

Beyond just Dinner
The market visit (was relocated to La Grande Épicerie du Paris) enhanced the dinner by participating in selecting vegetables and cheeses. Our chef Frédéric was very droll and knowledgeable. He did his best to ensure each participant was given attention. I learned a number of new techniques making chicken ballotine and glazing small balls of cucumber and carrots using a special tool. Was impressed by the emphasis on hand and kitchen hygiene. Frédéric welcomed questions throughout the evening. He asked participants questions about the dishes as they were prepared to ensure we were engaged and to also aid in the learning process. At the end of the evening, at my request, he provided a list of places to buy équipement and spices frequented by professional chefs but open to the public. I visited the area the next day and got to experience another part of Paris I hadn’t been to before. It was an unexpected bonus. Wine was offered on arrival and throughout the meal. We ate our entrées which were mushrooms in a cream sauce while other parts of the dinner were cooking - the ratatouille and red wine sauce for the chicken and ice cream was in the machine. We then went to kitchen to do final prep and plating of the main dishes and again repeated the process for dessert. We sat together and chatted after the meal, not leaving until after 11 pm. It was a true experience, not just a meal.

Cooking in Paris
Paulo was the best. Very knowledgeable about all things food. He engaged the class and involved us in each aspect of preparing the meal. We especially appreciated that he fully included our eleven year-old granddaughter throughout the experience.
Response from the operator: Bonjour, and thank you for your great review of your Cooking Class in Paris at Le Foodist with your Chef Paulo. I am delighted you found him the best and that he engaged the whole class in learning how to cook this three course meal from scratch. And I am certainly glad he fully included your granddaughter throughout the experience. Merci beaucoup Fred

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option cost?
+
Prices start at $209 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 478 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option?
+
Around 167 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Paris Evening Cooking Class French Dinner and Market Visit Option start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
