    Ghost hunters Gone Wild.

Don’t let this ghost hunter fool you, for a guy that says he only has three jokes he’s hilarious and informative. With top-of-the-line paranormal detection gear you will go to all of the hotspots of Greenville. Dr. Gabe Mathews, Jack of all trades, with a new album coming out. You might get lucky enough to hear some ghoulish lyrics. 10 out of 10 I would recommend to anyone in Greenville.

This tour was a huge mistake

We took this tour years ago when they had a lot of reviews. Boy was that a mistake. This tour was absolutely fake, with a bunch of stories about trolls and UFOs. The guide appeared to be out of his mind somehow. It was an incredibly weird experience, and our group leader didn't seem to even want to be there. The other 1-star reviews say the same thing, look at them yourself.

Response from the operator: I’m sorry the tour wasn’t what you were expecting. Our experience blends documented local history with reported paranormal encounters, and it’s presented in an immersive, theatrical style. We are a smaller, locally run operation and we’ve never had “a lot” of reviews at any point in our history. As for the content, we only had one stop to discuss UFOs and one or two cryptid stops with one local folklore story involving a troll-like creature. All of the stories shared on the tour are drawn from published literature, reported sightings, local legends, or historical accounts connected to the area. The vast majority of the tour focuses on documented events and reported experiences tied to specific locations. We understand our style isn’t for everyone. Our goal has always been to create a memorable and entertaining experience, even if it leans a little weird at times. It certainly sounds like it made an impression. We do appreciate you coming out and giving it a try.

    Not worth it

Don't bother! Self promoting, wears a terrible headset so close to his mouth that you can't understand a word he says! The ONLY thing good about it was it was a beautiful night!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the feedback! Sorry the audio didn’t land for you. The headset we use is actually one of the better-rated options available (solid reviews and widely used on tours), though outdoor environments and movement can affect how things sound from person to person. It’s rated 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and that’s unheard of. We are glad you picked a beautiful night to join us. Weather definitely helps any experience. Imagine how many stars this review might have if it had been cold, rainy, and nefariously haunted. We hope you’ll give us a second chance someday. And if not, you can still check out Paranormal Expedition, currently streaming on Amazon Prime, which features Greenville Ghost Tours owner Gabe Mathews as the lead investigator.

    Fantastic, memorable and great.

We had the best time. Gabe was our tour guide and he was amazing. My granddaughter got to participate in several sessions with Gabe. Loved this event.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review! I’m really glad you and your granddaughter had such a great time. Getting guests involved is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Thanks again for joining us, and I hope to see you both back for another investigation someday. Be a Searcher!

    Save your money!

Am I being punked? That is what I asked my husband literally less than 5 minutes into this tour. It started with a rap from our guide Gabe, yes I said a rap. It was about how he wants a paranormal show & preceded to include like every network & streaming service in this so called rap. Then we moved on to our first stop where he asked if we could find a specific name on a brick on the ground but never told us where it was, rather just moved on to the next stop. 15 minutes in and no ghost or paranormal stories. Then on to the next stop where he ranted that the establishment won't let him investigate even if he promises to put a sheet down when he sleeps as not to get his sweat on their couch. Then was the rant about him being a bit emo & loving The Cure, still no real paranormal story. Then there was his extremely bad jokes if you can even call them that (very awkward) where he asked seriously why we weren't laughing. We finally had a stop where he told a story of a troll, that was the paranormal part I guess. In talking with the others on the tour it was clear we all felt this was an uncomfortable wast of money & time. One couple tipped a street performer because he started playing his guitar over our guides babbling. At an hour in to this two hour what I can only describe as a very awkward fiasco my husband and I gave him back his EMF detector and bounced. A bit later we ran into another family that was on the tour who said they left shortly after we did because it only got worse after we left. Bottom line is this guide Gabe had no clue what he was doing, he rambled on & on about nothing & admitted to not knowing some facts that were part of his stories. He moved from stop to stop without explaining where we were going and never made sure the group was still with him. All in all a complete waste of time and money.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. I’m sorry the experience didn’t align with what you were hoping for, but clearly it w For context for future readers, this tour is intentionally unconventional and performance-driven, blending storytelling, humor, and paranormal investigation rather than following a more traditional format. Any personal references made during the tour are part of that presentation. For accuracy’s sake, I described myself as goth, not emo, and the stories shared are drawn from documented paranormal literature, local reports, and firsthand or secondhand accounts connected to Greenville. Since you chose to leave early, you did not experience the latter half of the tour, where the investigation and a few more traditional paranormal storytelling typically take place. While the experience clearly wasn’t what you were looking for, it was designed to be memorable and leave a lasting impression. I understand this style won’t resonate with everyone, and that’s okay.
