Make your own way to the Pitti Palace, home of the powerful Medici family during the Renaissance. Whisk your way past any entrance lines with your skip-the-line ticket, and head straight inside to explore at leisure. The palace’s west wing is home to the Palatine Gallery, which displays more than 500 works of European art. Much of the artwork dates back to the 17th century, and is showcased in the plush private rooms of the ducal apartments. Wander rooms decorated with gold-framed works by the likes of Bronzino, Caravaggio, Rubens, Titian, Van Dyke, and Velazquez. Don’t miss Raphael’s Madonna and Child and the two impressive Botticelli portraits. After admiring the Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces, head upstairs to visit the Gallery of Modern Art. I was never emailed a ticket for this event. The attendants at the ticket office for the museum did not accept either of my documents because they said voucher, and under the details the document stated that my ticket would be emailed to me. I showed her both the download pdf and the ticket that was provided in the app and she accepted neither.

Response from the operator: hello, we are sorry for the inconvenience, just the official ticket we provide allows access to the monuments. Please send us at help@web95.it your BR code, in order to understand what happened. Thank you

    What modern art gallery?

Given nearly every museum in Florence is about the Renaissance period, I was excited to see the Pitti Palace's modern art gallery. I was so curious to see what modern art came out of Florentine and Italian artists. Well, what a deception. The modern art gallery is just a collection of few pieces picked from the Renaissance to today, with maybe up to 4 or 5 pieces from the XXth century, and nothing else. Again, what a disappointment!

I had to wait in line to get my ticket. I did not receive one that I could use on my phone. So that it is not skip the line!

Response from the operator: We are sorry you had problems downloading your voucher from the VIATOR app, we do not control this aspect of the procedure.

Cancelled Last Minute with No Explanation. Booked Weeks in Advance.

It seems they oversold the tickets and decided to cancel the 2 tickets we booked weeks in advance 2 days before we were supposed to tour. They gave no explanation other than that it was “due to the high demand”. Now we are stuck.

Response from the operator: good evening, your reservation has been fully refunded because, as indicated in the email you received, it would have been possible to confirm it only at a very different time from the one you indicated. We remind you that VIATOR guarantees the date but the time is the first free one closest to the one requested, as you can check online on the booking page. Kind regards MARIA

We thought it would be a guided tour - The website let us to believe it be guided. We have used lots of viatours over the years and I’ve had great experiences. This just did not work out.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence cost?

    +

Prices start at $32 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 35 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Palatine and Modern Art Gallery at the Pitti Palace in Florence start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
