    Great experience!

I did my Divemaster Internship in November 2024 and my IDC in March 2025 in this Divecenter, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place for it! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Kate and Chris, who run everything, are lovely people and the divesites are super interesting. I would definitely recommend going there for the Internship or the IDC, but also only for a fundive with excellent guides and nice people around!! 🫶🏻

Excellent diving, tuition and support provided by the whole team at Bluewater Diving. The facilities, staff and entire experience was amazing. Such a great variety of dive sites including multiple wrecks, reefs and drift sites. Can’t wait to go again.

    Divemaster Experience

Divemaster experience not recommended, unless you want to learn the hard way. Expectation from planning says you will be doing 2 dives per day but in the end you will be expected to join 4 dives a day (from 9-14h). You will be expected (together with the other “interns”) to wash absolutely all gear from the customers of the day, i.e, if there are 15 customers that day is the amount you need to wash, moore/unmoore the boat, prepare the equipment of the customers and gear them up. That is… you will be expected to study as you were working full time there. The rescue and EFR courses may happen in any time of the course, not necessarily in the beginning. You will be fully working while you learn and pay 1300€ per month. The accomodation provided is a bed in a shared room of 8-10 people.

Response from the operator: Hi Eva….. Thanks for the feedback however just a little review over some points so any other upcoming Divemaster trainees can read. Our Divemaster programme states that you will be diving between two to four dives per day, Thai is to ensure we obtain the required amount of dives for you to complete the training, but aswell because Divemaster trainees want to dive… this is why they come here , to dive. This is clearly explained in the first email I send out to people which you received and is a standard email I send to each enquiry. Hear washing for both internships and clients is required, without washing gear problems occur and I would hate to give the next days clients unwashed gear…… as much as we can guests are to wash there own wetsuits and hang them but the bcds and regulators we cannot expect beginner first time dives to wash as they don’t know what they are doing….. we all wash equipment both staff and Dmt’s to ensure the day runs smoothly. Studying, this you have the option to do prior to your arrival or during the course, you have between 4 - 6 weeks to study in the evenings and also the days off and as yet no one has experienced any issues with this. You happened to book last minute so theory in your case would have been done in the evenings and days off…. But as you only stayed with us two days as an internship you didnt get the opportunity to do this in the spare time. Your rescue and EFR course was completed and within the first week of you coming, as mentioned after two days you decided not to continue and so we finished the rescue and EFR course for you. We have students passing in and out so makes sense to wait for a group to be together to do the course instead of an individual rescue course, plus is more fun with more students and we have the photos and video to show you actually enjoying the course . Fully working is not what you are doing, our instructors are working, you are there is assist and learn how to become a professional diver. The accommodation is given free of charge in the package…. And has two bedrooms with 8 people. Impossible ten as there is not even ten beds🤦🏼‍♀️ The day as explained in the email starts at 8am and finishes approx 4/4:30pm. It’s impossible to fit four dives in the time scale you have mentioned. The review however is harsh considering you didn’t give yourself time to settle in or get used to the daily diving situation. Each internship has to e opportunity to do upto four dives per day but also can opt out if they are feeling a little tired etc…. Anyway good luck in the future and I would recommend a personal 1:1 divemaster course and with small groups for you to learn with. Our course gives excellent chance to gain hands on experience.

PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gran Canaria.

How much does PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria cost?

    +

Prices start at $394 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gran Canaria usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gran Canaria is not rushed.

Is PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gran Canaria, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gran Canaria can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gran Canaria and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does PADI Rescue Diver Course in Gran Canaria start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gran Canaria within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Gran Canaria?

    +

On Outty we rank every Gran Canaria experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Puerto de Mogán: Coastal Cruise with Optional Snorkeling & Lunch, Guided tour of the Banana World, Gran Canaria Red Canyon: Small Group Tour & Local Food ツ. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Gran Canaria?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Gran Canaria?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
