Avoid this tour at all costs
This was a nightmare experience for myself and my mother. We were so disappointed after having looked forward to this tour for months. I share to save other travels the frustration, discomfort and safety hazard that this tour brings. After being put on the wrong bus for the first 4 hours - we were taken off at one of the stops and left there for 25 minutes in the blazing midday sun with no explanation from the driver or the whatsapp contact. Later a new driver came and was grumpy with us for holding up his group. At Ait Ben Haddou I asked the tour guide if we could have lunch before the walking tour because we were hungry (it was 1pm and we left Marrakesh at 730am with no break gays stop) and he scolded me with extreme language telling me that I am a terrible person with bad energy who will “get what is coming for her”. He was a big tall man and I was very afraid during and after his outburst. No one did anything except for the other guests who consoled me and defended me. At the desert camp the people were kinder but unfortunately unprepared for our arrival. The dinner was served after 10pm - very late for myself so I missed it. Breakfast was not served which made for a hungry uncomfortable drive back. I would have brought food if I had know but the tour was not delivered as advertised. On the way back to Marrakesh on day 2 the driver didn’t tell us when we would stop of where we could buy food. It felt like we were trapped on the bus. We finally stopped for lunch until 2pm and arrived back to Marrakesh at 5pm. Very little care or consideration went into the planning or this tour. The company didn’t care about any of these issues - and when I asked a simple question I was berated. As a woman in a foreign country you will not feel safe on this tour. Try another operator or avoid completely. It’s really not worth the drive or the way you may be treated to meet the camels 😔😬

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 11. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does overnight in the zagoura desert 1n/2 days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
