Climb On
I had a great time climbing with AdventureTerra on our Intro to Rock Climbing Course. Our instructor Clay was polite, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. All gear was provided for us and was in good working order. Clay was on time and worked with each individual according to their skill and comfort level. These guys are great instructors and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve their skills or just have fun on a weekend.
Response from the operator: We are so happy you all came out to climbing with us and that you had a great time! Thank you so much!

Great experience taking private lessons
Clay helped me tremendously to learn the basics of outdoor sport and trad climbing. As a middle aged climber I found it more useful to take a series of private lessons so I could progress at my own pace. Clay was always calm and patient with me, even if it meant demonstrating things many times until I got it. He's easy to work with providing the right balance of encouragement and pushing you to your best ability. I found Mt Erie an excellent spot to train on a variety of technical grades. Based on my experience, this is an excellent company for anyone interested in trying or improving their skill in rock climbing.
Response from the operator: It was great working with you, and we wish you all the best in your climbing endeavors! Come back anytime. Maybe give tree climbing a try! We got 100-300 ft tall trees for you to climb.

Wonderful rock climbing experience
This was our first experience with rock climbing. Leo is very knowledgeable of the sport and really took the time to explain all of the equipment, techniques, and to make sure we felt comfortable with sitting in the harness before we started to climb. He modified the climbs to fit our personal level of ability and comfort. We felt completely safe and were able to relax and enjoy the experience. Thanks again Leo!
Response from the operator: Great climbing with you two. It was so good being on the cliffs with you two and watch you both explore this new experience together!

Awesome!!
Our family had an amazing time! The instructors were fantastic and very patient with us considering we had no idea what we were doing. Our seven year daughter is hooked and can't wait to do it again. Thanks for a great day!
Response from the operator: Glad to hear you all had a great time, don't stop climbing! It's an amazing hobby, with many health benefits.

Awesome experience
Me and my husband did the rock climbing experience with Cameron and Rilen. We were both a little nervous, we didn’t really know what to expect. Cameron made us feel very comfortable, and was a very good teacher. Adventure Terra also includes an option to have a photographer capture your experience, Rilen not only added to the fun we had with our little group but he also takes amazing pictures. If you are on the fence about booking a photographer, I’d say that it was definitely worth the price, for us we love looking back on those pictures, and keeping them as proof for our kids that we weren’t always boring. My husband and I loved our experience and plan to come back for the tree climbing experience.
Response from the operator: Well shucks! that was a wonderful honest review, thank you so much for your feedback. We really appreciate it and hope you two do come back for old-growth tree climbing. We very much look forward to seeing you then :D

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Juan Islands.
How much does Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie cost?
+
Prices start at $260 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Juan Islands usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Juan Islands is not rushed.
Is Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in San Juan Islands, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Juan Islands can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Juan Islands and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Outdoor Rock Climbing Beginner or Intermediate at Mt Erie start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Juan Islands within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Juan Islands?
+
The San Juan Islands are Washington's whale watching centre: orca and humpback boats, kayak tours through the channels, seaplane trips and island-hopping day tours from Seattle. On Outty we rank every San Juan Islands experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale Watching from Friday Harbor, Chuckanut Bay Distillery Tour with 2 Mini Cocktails and Gift Glass, Full Day San Juan Island Kayaking Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Juan Islands?
+
May to September, with peak whale sightings in July and August. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Juan Islands?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
