Amazing Day Trip Experience
My wife and I were met by Ibrahim the driver at our hotel after breakfast and he could not have been more friendly or obliging. He drove us from Marrakech to the High Atlas in Ourika, stopping for photos etc along the way. At Fadma we were greeted by our trekking guide Hicham who took us on a wonderful 2-hr trek up the mountain to see lovely scenery and waterfalls. Back for lunch (included in the price) sitting on the river and then a ride back into town. This was one of our highlights - not only of this trip but any other holiday for that matter. Ibrahim and Hisham could not have been kinder or better hosts for the day. Thank you!

Beautiful tour of the valley
We really enjoyed our trip to Ourika valley. Ibrahim our driver was great. The guide in the valley was brilliant, although be warned, he is a mountain goat! We visited the waterfalls and having some degree of fitness he took us to the top of the mountain, spectacular views but definitely not a climb for beginners. The only let down was the lunch, whilst the location by the river was wonderful, the food was cold and very average, apart from that a great day.

Good company, but guides were not all good
We took a few private day trips with this company. Overall the communication with them was good, and despite the high prices, we were happy with the tours (especially with Jamal - an excellent and super-friendly driver!). The main issue that we had with the tours was that their guides are not all of good level. On two of the tours we had excellent guides, but on the third one the guide was totally clueless and loaded us with made-up false information (e.g. “the Ouzoud falls are the highest in the world after Niagara Falls” ???). Also, be aware that the guides are local guides at the main destination, so they only join the group for about 2-3 hours at the final destination. This means that for the rest of the day, only limited explanations are provided by the English-speaking driver.

Ourika in the snow
Wonderful day out and just the right amount of time. We were picked up promptly at 9am at our Riad and then driven up the mountains. We were there in late January and went on the day of the fist snow which was amazing. We were able to go up to see all the waterfalls. We should probably have had hiking shoes but any other day would probably be ok in ordinary trainers. We were able to have a tea break a couple of times and go to some shops along the route. At the end we had a delicious traditional meal for lunch in the village. The monkeys were the best part of it and we got some amazing snaps. Bring binoculars if you are into bird watching. Our two guides were both very friendly and accommodating. They both spoke excellent French and English. Our driver was very good and the 4x4 was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this company and day trip.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ourika Valley - Private Day trip from Marrakech start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
