  1. Ourika Valley

Start this Beautiful journeys pick up from your Hotel or Riad at 09H00, by a nice car and very Professional and friendly Driver. Ourika valley nestled high in the Atlas Mountains. Located south of Marrakech. A trip to the Ourika Valley is a great escape from the heat and noise of Marrakech. The first thirty minutes, you drive through a rather dull, flat plan. the breathtaking views of Berber villages and landscapes begin. There is a great Monday souk at this roadside village. Setti Fatma is the place to go.  One is astonished by the hard labour undertaken by the Berber populations of the area which did not hesitate to hoist with hillside materials necessary to the construction of small houses fixed on mountainside or to work the terraces necessary to agriculture in hostile environment. Ourika's atmosphere and unique décor is sure to impress!

Clarity needed!

Should be reasonably physically fit as it envolves climbing many uneven stairs for about a 20 minute hike to the waterfalls. At this time of year (January) there can be numerous ice covered spots. Would be nice to have a tour guide that was fluent in your language (in this case English). Also we were told on the way there that because we were the only couple that booked for this excursion we would have to pay the total tour guide cost of 250 dirhams. Would have been split had there been more people . Pickup in the morning was great, but on return our driver wanted to let us off at a different place as he put it, the morning spot got just too busy. We insisted on being dropped off at the same spot as we were picked up as we just are not familiar with the area. All that aside it was an interesting tour.

Response from the operator: From the beginning we can't have communication with the client hi don't answer hi phone and we try to call hotel no answer and as in the Medina no car entry to the place but the driver hi get very close to the hotel and they are lucky because the bus is full as we see is older so put them in one car we didn't charge more for the hope the help because hi did explain all the away.

Adil Shukran

Adil is fantastic! He has always been friendly and easy to connect with, to organize a week in Marrakech, Essaouia, Ourika and Imlil (Atlas). A great Spanish-speaking driver who conveys a lot of security. We will definitely recommend it. Shukran Adil.

Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip cost?

+

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains Day Trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
