We couldn't complete the tour... I'm sad.

Visiting Casa Orendain was one of my most anticipated activities in Jalisco tequila. We went with my husband and some relatives. Unfortunately we did not get in, we had already gone to two different distilleries and by the time we got home orendain our relatives were too taken, the staff behaved as kind and aware, at all times we felt understood and they were in charge of calling a transport for our hotel and made sure that we were refunded for not being able to do the tour and tasting, they assured us that it was better that we did not do the tour in that state as it was dangerous for them and for us. I will definitely visit the Orendain Distiller first next year. I am very fond of the brand as it was the favorite tequila of my grandfather and mother, for being a brand 100% Mexican and with great quality.

    Just OK

We spoke with one of the guides around Tequila who offered this tour for $250 pesos per person. We registered and there they also sold cantaritos, they told us we could get a refill for $60 pesos but that was not true later on. We rode on one of those barril buses but it was hard to hear the guide and they oversold so not enough seats. They took us to a spot to view agave plants but it was very small and crowded with the holiday crowd. We arrived to the distillery and also had a hard time hearing with the machinery. Tasting was at the very end but overall underwhelming. This tour is all in Spanish if you plan to travel here.

    Great Tasting Experience

We paid extra directly to the distillery for their tasting experience; which was excellent. Why this was not offered on your website is a mystery to me. Their tasting made this tour top notch. Great tequila.

    Great Tequila tasting at Orendain!

We came to visit our family in Guadalajara last month and they took us for the first time to Tequila, Jalisco. We were invited to La Mexicana Tequila Orendain for a tour and to taste their wonderful products. We were received by an enthusiastic guide who was very knowledgeable of the distillation process and tequila. He gave us a fantastic tour of their grounds, we were able to see the manufacturing process, we learned about the blue agave, and the difference with the type of agave used in the fabrication of mezcal. They only thing I wish I would have seen was the Jimadores working on the plants. Then we went into a private room to taste the three types they have Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. There is a lot to it, more than you might think… Here in the USA tequila is drunk as shots, but there is a science to it. There are different kinds of tequila, distillation methods, and food pairings that are appropriate for different occasions. First of all, the tequila was served in a flute glass, and it is supposed to be tasted in sips (Kiss the tequila). After the tasting we were treated to a ‘Jarrita’, which is a cold cocktail made with Tequila which was delicious and tasty. I recommend to anyone who visits Jalisco to stop by La Mexicana, you will not regret it.

Response from the operator: It was a pleasure to have you in our destillery hope you visit us once again.

Take a walk to a great tour!

We were just walking around Tequila after lunch and saw the Orendain store. Went in and asked about a tour. He told us where the distillery was and walked to it (15 minute walk from the plaza). Marcos was our tour guide. He was MARVELOUS! We saw the process of how the tequila was prepared (which we sorta knew from all the other plants) but we were more able to get up close and personal to the fermentation vats. I was disappointed they wouldn't let me jump in for a swim but such is life. ;) Truthfully, prior to seeing the store, I'm not sure we really had known about Orendain. But with the tasting session we had, last of the day so Marcos spent more time with us, we found that we enjoyed it and of course, bought some. Well worth the time!

Response from the operator: You guys were amazing I hope you had memorable moments within our factory. We hope you come again asap

Orendain Classic Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Guadalajara.

How much does Orendain Classic Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Guadalajara usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Orendain Classic Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Guadalajara is not rushed.

Is Orendain Classic Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Guadalajara, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Orendain Classic Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Orendain Classic Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Orendain Classic Tour?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Guadalajara can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Guadalajara and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Orendain Classic Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Guadalajara within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Guadalajara?

    +

On Outty we rank every Guadalajara experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Luxury Tequila Experience: VIP Tastings & Boutique Distilleries, Full Day Tour to Tequila and Amatitán with Fun and Culture, The Fire TOUR - Pyramids, Volcanoes, Agaves & Tequila. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Guadalajara?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Guadalajara?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
