A seamless tour of Yala National Park from the Galle area.
Mahesh organised a day trip from Unawatuna to Yala to undertake a safari for myself and my son. The day was magical, and the organisation was seamless. Mahesh took really good care of us making sure we had everything we needed, and stopping off aling the way to point out interesting sights and wildlife. We felt so at home, and lucky to have found Galle Tours and Travel. I cant recommend them enough.

Udawalawe day trip
I had amazing and SAFE time with Mahesh and his team during my stay in Galle. I was there for 9 days touring, Mahesh gave me recommendation to visit Udawalawe National Park Safari, as I was with my 2.5 years old little baby, I didn’t want to go to Yala but I wanna see animals so he took me to Udawalawe. His team are very friendly, very carefully on surrounding and also very gentle to protect the environment, he picks up rubbish or plastic from the park while driving also tells good story about the animals and their living environment. They also know where are the good food place to go. His service is 5 stars! I will always come back to him. My next wish list is to stay in wild safari and book tour with his team.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! It was truly a pleasure to have you and your daughter with us in Galle. We’re so glad you enjoyed the Udawalawe National Park Safari and felt safe and well cared for throughout your tour. Me and My team are passionate about both our guests and the environment, so it’s wonderful to hear that our efforts made a lasting impression. We’re also happy you enjoyed the food spots and stories along the way! We can’t wait to welcome you back for your next adventure—especially a stay in the wild safari! Until then, take care.

Great day trip to Yala
I had a whole day trip to Yala for a morning safari. My pickup was great, driver was lovely and I felt very safe. The safari driver / guide was brilliant. Plus we stopped at the stilt fishermen, temple and the turtle sanctuary on the way back as well as some photo spots along the surf beaches. An amazing day and so worth it.

It’s great to know you enjoyed not just the safari but also the extra cite scenes along the way. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Galle.
How much does One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Galle usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Galle is not rushed.
Is One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Galle, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Galle can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Galle and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does One day Yala National Park from Galle/Hikkaduwa/Mirissa/Unawatuna start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Galle within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Galle?
+
On Outty we rank every Galle experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full day / Half Day WildlifeAdventure in Yala-National-Park, Special leopard & Elephants safari - Yala - 04.30 am to 11.30 am, Sea waves sri lankan cooking class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Galle?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Galle?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
