    Delicious!

The views we saw were stunning. The wine we tasted was divine. The food was amazing. We had a fabulous day!! Our driver took great care of us, and we appreciated that so much.

    Relaxed, informative, definitely worth it

We saw all the main spots, and the personalized touch made the experience special. We skipped the usual group tour chaos and got to explore at our own pace.

You’re better off booking a taxi

This was the most upsetting experience I booked on our trip to Italy. It was essentially just a taxi with a driver that clearly didn’t like us right from the start. I have had better conversations with the taxi drivers in Milan than this driver. The mood was somber and silent. I booked this expecting that the driver would share some stories or history of the area while we were driving through and offer suggestions of places to visit in the cities. Nope. It was brutal, sad and suffocating silence. When we would ask a question he said it was not a tour. Back to silence. Okay then. I guess I paid a lot of money to just be miserable all day and learn nothing. I would recommend that anyone else just save their money and book and taxi or Uber. We went to the cities without much clue where to go and see. Again, I assumed the driver would tell us the best places to check out on the way so I didn’t research. That was a mistake. Don’t book on Sunday!! The winery with the tasting was closed on Sunday, which I wish I would have known beforehand or I would not have booked this day!! Some communication in the listing about this or by the driver before we get to the winery would have been nice so we would have known to grab snacks in the other cities. We didn’t get to taste any wines and the truffle museum didn’t have staff outside the coffee bar so no truffle tasting either. I would not recommend purchasing this experience unless your expectation is merely a fancy cab ride.

Response from the operator: Dear Madam, I am truly sorry to hear you say things that do not correspond to reality and to realize that you did not fully understand the service you purchased. First of all, I would like to emphasize that the details of the day's itinerary were clearly explained to you at the time of departure. Upon our arrival in Alba, I provided you with precise indications on what to visit, such as the truffle museum, the ancient churches with their valuable works of art, and the local restaurants where you could taste the typical delicacies. However, you decided to return to the car after only 30 minutes without exploring the city. Next, I accompanied you to Barolo, where I suggested you visit the Wine Museum next to the castle. Again, after only 40 minutes, you returned to the car without having visited anything. I also proposed having lunch at a restaurant with a beautiful view, but you refused. We then continued with a visit to the residence of the Italian Royal Family, the Savoy, where you bought some souvenirs. Finally, I took you to a regional company for wine and local specialty tastings, but you chose not to enter. I am very sorry for your nervous breakdown, and I understand that you may have had personal issues. However, I believe it is important that you fully understand the content and the terms of a tour before purchasing it. You mentioned taxis or Uber, but such a service would not have been able to cover 500 km for the price you paid, nor would it have offered the same level of comfort and quality as our car. You are the first people who, during a visit to Alba, showed no interest in drinking, eating, or exploring the hard-to-reach areas. Evidently, your interests did not match the proposed tour. It is crucial to read the tour descriptions carefully to avoid misunderstandings.

    Do not recommend

This was an overpriced trip, you don’t get the experience you are charged for. You just get a private car with a driver. The driver was good though. . The tickets to the museums were not included, neither was the wine tasting experience. This is not a guided tour. Look for other options.

Response from the operator: Dear SHIRISH OJHA, we are very disappointed to hear that and because you don’t understand what you do. First of all you need to read the conditions on the tour first you buy! In the tour it’s not included any tickets!!!And we don’t pay for lunch or wine of the guests !!! It’s up to any person what they want to do! Secondly you booked one tour with pick up at Malpensa Airport what it more to 100 kilometers from our pick up area and even that we offer you for free, not charge any extra! And you do more to 12h tour with private car!! With out charge you nothing! Just to explain you better, this tour it’s dedicated at the people who stay in the big city like Milan and they wish to see something different who can’t afford without private car. And also the winery what you can’t do this experience if you don’t are with us. I suggest you to read the conditions when you choose your journey in the future and buy a hotel in the big city not far 100 km.

One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles cost?

    +

Prices start at $1712 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does One Day Private Tour of Alba City of Wine and Truffles start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Milan: Pasta and Tiramisu Small Group Cooking Class with Wine, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
