    Incredible Experience, Worth the Money

Absolutely loved my safari! This was my second safari but for my friends it was their first. Everyone was very happy with the safari with all of us wishing we could’ve extended our safari. We had only done the day trip from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere. I have and will continue to recommend this experience to everyone I know.

    Exciting Day Trip to Mikumi

The one-day safari was an unforgettable experience. We set off early in the morning, and the drive through the vast landscape was breathtaking. Elephants, giraffes, Crocodiles, hippos, zebras and numerous antelopes could be observed up close. The highlight was a lion resting majestically in the shade even though only visible through the zoom on camera. Our guide shared fascinating insights about the wildlife, adding depth to the journey. Despite the short duration, it truly was an intense adventure.

Response from the operator: Dear Philippa, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience, We are happy to hear that your one day safari left such a lasting impression. from elephants and giraffes to the majestic lion. We are also glad our guide could enhance the trip with interesting insights. Even in just one day, it’s amazing how powerful and memorable nature can be. We hope to welcome you back for a longer adventure next time. Warm regards, The Kihindo Tours & Safaris Ltd Team.

    An exceptional experience

From the communication beforehand to the hotel pickup, the transportation to the park, and the safari itself, everything was great. The drivers were all friendly and helpful, and my safari guide Danford was excellent. Saw way more than I expected, and we lucked out and were 15 feet away as a small herd of elephants drank and cooled off in the water. A really cool adventure, and worth every penny.

Response from the operator: Dear Todd, Thank you so much for your wonderful review We are happy to hear that everything from the communication and hotel pickup to the safari experience exceeded your expectations. It's great to know that our team, especially your guide Danford, made your adventure memorable. Seeing elephants up close like that is truly a special moment we are glad you got to experience it. Thank you again for choosing us we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future. Warm regards, The Kihindo Tours & Safaris Team.

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dar es Salaam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dar es Salaam and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Dar es Salaam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Dar es Salaam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 nights 3 days safari to mikumi national park, 1-Day Mikumi National Park Fly-In Safari from Zanzibar, 3 Days Safari to Mikumi NP - Accommodation Inside the Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Dar es Salaam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Dar es Salaam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
