Normandy D Day Omaha Beach and Cemetery Visit - A history lesson
We booked directly with Overlord Tour, after reading multiple great reviews on Trip Advisor and also on Rick Steves. This private tour was AMAZING! Our tour guide Antoine was knowledgeable. We were treated to an in-depth history lesson about the preparation of the D Day landing, and the events of D Day. He took us to Pointe du Hoc, and recounted the amazing feat of our rangers who bravely (and against all odds) fought and gained control despite heavy losses. We saw German bunkers, and subsequently were treated to the story of the intense fighting while standing on the sands of Omaha Beach. Before the end of the tour, we visited the Normandy American Cemetery. The moment was solemn but well-worth the visit.

Well Run and Knowledgable Tour Guide!
It was well run, well organized, and our tour guide Steven was super kind and knowledgeable. He brought us to the cemetery right at opening and we beat the crowds, which was beautiful and honestly that alone made the price worth it. If you are a huge history buff this tour is definitely on the quicker side and more of a general overview, but if you don’t have a lot of time in Normandy this is really a great option.

AM Half Day Tour
We had booked the half day Omaha beach tour with Overlord and the whole booking process was exceptionally smooth. The communications from the staff was quick and on time even as our travel arrangements changed. We booked the AM tour only because we wanted to self explore areas along Utah beach afterwards and did not want to commit a whole day. We packed a tight itinerary so were driving in from Rouen early in the morning and were heading to Mont St. Michel in the evening. As a result, the half day tour was the perfect length for us. The parking instructions were very succinct and clear. As for our tour itself, not sure how we lucked out but we ended up being the only two on the AM tour. Our tour guide, Louis Boubat was extraordinarily accommodating, knowledgeable and kind. He brought us to the American Cemetery first to avoid the crowds and we had the whole place to ourselves for a peaceful start to the day. The rest of the morning was just as wonderful and you can tell he was really passionate about this history of the D-Day landings.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bayeux?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bayeux?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
