Great Culture and food in Puerto Vallarta
We went to some tasty restaurants with some really good flavor. Both food and drinks. I think this is best for all ages. Our tour guide Al was super nice and knew a lot about the area. Overall he was a great help for all of us to understand this culture.
Response from the operator: Hi Lindsay, thank you for your review. We are really happy to hear you had a great time with Al and that you got to discover delicious food along the way. I think you are right, this tour is one of the best to enjoy with all the family! Thank you so much for recommending us, hope to see you back soon for more foodie adventures! Saludos, Paul M.

Incredible Value!
You better come HUNGRY! There are 10 stops on this tour, be adventurous for the best experience. But if you play it safe, you will also be happy. Best food I have never had before: smoked marlin! Wow! Nanci fruit was interesting flavor to experience. Book with this group, you will NOT be disappointed!

Ultimate Way to See Puerto Vallarta
We have taken this food tour many times and it is amazing every time. Sylvia was again our tour guide and she is the BEST! Besides informing us about each taco we were trying, she told us the history of the area and even showed us plants and trees along our route. This tour was extra special because of Sylvia's enthusiasm and love of Puerto Vallarta.

DIdn’t disappoint! Great food walking tour
Easy to book and communication was great. Easy to find meeting place. Our tour guide Joanna was on time and we started promptly. The tour lasted as planned around 3 1/2 hrs and we went to 8 different locations, Joanna was very good in explaining the history of the locations we went to. It was nice to support local family owned establishments. The food was varied and was just the right amount for this type of tour. Joanna was very flexible in making sure we all enjoyed our food experience and helping with substitutions in some cases. Highly recommend this tour and have absolutely no complaints at all. Will definitely recommend it to others and a nice way also to see different area of town. Plenty of rest between the locations so a nice balance between walking and eating!
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that everything from the booking process to the final tasting met your expectations. Joana does a wonderful job sharing the history of Puerto Vallarta while ensuring every guest has a great experience, and we're glad her flexibility and attention to detail stood out. Thank you for supporting the local family-owned businesses we partner with, and for recommending us to others. We hope to welcome you back on another tour soon! Saludos, Paul M.

Wonderful food tours in PV!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Original Downtown Tour. So informative, great eats and drinks and a great guide, Joanna! Our 5th tour with this company over the last few years. We try a different tour or two each year. Highly recommend! Small groups too which is nice.
Response from the operator: Hi Cynthia! Thank you for being such loyal guests and for joining us on five tours over the years! We're thrilled that the Original Downtown Tour and Joana helped make another visit memorable. It means a lot that you continue exploring new tours with us! We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back for tour number six! Saludos, Paul M.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Town Taco Tour with Vallarta Food Tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
