Beautiful expressions of moldova and it's rural areas
We've had a great day visiting the monastery in moldova. Our guide Lena was fluent in both russian and english. When driving to the monastery she could tell us so much information about the places we saw. When we arrived at the hills where the monastery is placed, we did a little hike up the mountain. We could see how traditional people live there ( I even tasted water from a well, which is much better than the water in the city lol). We had a nice dinner in a local restaurant there, where I had the best placinte I've ever had.

Fantastic day at Old Orhei
Natalia was a fantastic guide who really made sure I had a great experience. She is very knowledgeable about Moldova and is a great person to talk to. The tour was wonderfully organised.

Visit to the Cultural heart of Moldova
My guide was Helen, a very experienced one, although she was still young. She picked me up on Time from my Hotel. She got already in touch with me through WhatsApp before. The trip was in a private car since I was alone. She gave time to make stops on the way for pictures and informed me about the history of Moldova very well. She brought me to a traditional Restaurant for my first traditional Moldovan food which was nice an interesting.

Wonderful half day trip to Old Orhei
I had a wonderful day with Natalia - she picked me up from the city center and drove me personally out to Old Orhei. We had a nice talk along the way where I asked her about herself and about her life in Moldova and she told me more about the road we were traveling on and the surroundings, before we got to our destination. Once in Old Orhei, we visited the monastery and the new church and then I had a nice lunch in one of the village restaurants. This was a great way to get to see a preserved part of Moldovan life and be outdoors and away from the city. Highly recommend the tour and my guide, Natalia!

Beautiful experience with well informed guide, expert driver, amazing lunch
Beautiful experience with well informed guide, expert driver, amazing lunch. My thanks to Helena(sp?). Excellent way to see probably Moldova's #1 attraction in informative, respectful visit. Absolutely amazing lunch at Moldovan themed restaurant, great pick by guide.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chisinau.
How much does Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional) cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chisinau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional) take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chisinau is not rushed.
Is Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chisinau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional)?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chisinau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chisinau and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Orhei & Curchi Monasteries & Cricova winery (optional) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chisinau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chisinau?
+
On Outty we rank every Chisinau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soviet Era Tour of Transnistria from Chisinau Moldova, One day tour in Transnistria, Tiraspol must-see tour with Anton Dendemarchenko - Pridnestrovie. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chisinau?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chisinau?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
