About this experience
Discover the flavors of Granada and the local life on an off-the-beaten-path market tour in the old town of Granada. You can see how locals live and shop and go about their daily lives in a relaxed Spanish way. You would taste your way along different stalls and learn about the most typical and traditional Spanish delights. We will start off with a walk through the old town and cover 2000 years of history all from ancient tribes to Muslims and Christian & pass by the second biggest Cathedral in Spain. To warm up we savor some hot churro and chocolate. Then, we would stop to chat with a family-run shop and taste first quality Iberian ham, local cheese from Trevelez as well as Spanish gourmet products such as Chorizo, the spicy sausage, Lomo, Salsichon. We will drink Alhambra beer or have a glass of wine and try some olives. We will finish the tour with a typical artisanal sweet called Piononos.

Too expensive
Our guide was nice but not very knowledgeable about food or cooking. She took 2 hours not 3 hours. The markets are new , not old, although she did point out where the old markets had been. We probably had €50 worth of tastings between 2 of us on a tour which cost €378 for 2. It was too expensive.

Good tour guide and food
Theresa was a great tour guide. She showed us places we would have never found. Lots of wonderful food.

Great experience
My husband and I had a great time on this tour. Our guide Theresa, was very informative, and had real inside information on the places to go and what to eat. It felt more like hanging out with a friend than a guide. The food was delicious too.

Great time in Spain
I had previously used Not Just a Tourist services in Seville and for our second trip in Spain we decided to use their services again. We had a very useful orientation talk with Mahsa and agreed on the activities that we would like to do and those sites there were important to us. On this occasion we spent 8 days in Spain and took 10 different tours. The market tour was a great start to our stay in Granada as you do the most typical thing that a local person would do- grocery shopping. We had a nice walk in the old town which served as an orientation walk and then head to a market. The market is nothing fancy but a great place for a first hand idea of Granada. We stopped at 4 stalls and places and tried a big variety fo local products with a lot of historic explanations. That was not only yummy but simply amazing to learn so much through food. The market gets busier around noon but we enjoyed having the attention of the stall owners all for ourselves.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Granada.
How much does Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $113 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Granada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Granada is not rushed.
Is Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Granada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Granada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Granada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Granada Market & Food Tasting Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Granada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Granada?
+
On Outty we rank every Granada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Granada: Sierra Nevada Safari tour up to 2500 meters high, Granada Tapas and Wine Small Group Tour, Granada: Albaicin and Sacromonte Segway Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Granada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Granada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
