The one MUST DO Delhi experience!

My college students and I had ANOTHER exceptional experience with Masterji Lee Haveli's Old Delhi walk! We made a special stop in Delhi during our India travels JUST to do this tour (which I began doing in 2013.) Varun was an exceptionally knowledgeable, kind, and sweet friend guiding us through the remarkable sights, sounds, and people of Old Delhi. You MUST do this tour!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for returning to Masterji Kee Haveli and for making a special stop in Delhi just to experience our Old Delhi walk again! Knowing that you first joined us in 2013 and continue to bring your college students to discover Old Delhi with us is an incredible compliment. ❤️ Varun will be especially touched by your kind words. We truly believe that the best way to experience India is through its people. Our walks are not simply about monuments and sightseeing—they are about the stories, traditions, food, families, neighborhoods, and everyday life that make each place unique. This philosophy is at the heart of what we do across India. We now offer carefully curated local experiences in destinations throughout the country, with one dedicated person in each city acting as an ambassador for their own city. We deliberately work with local people because we believe locals make all the difference. Some of our city ambassadors even come from royal families and share these experiences purely as a passion for their heritage, culture, and hometown. And our experiences go beyond walking tours. Guests can also stay with us at the Masterji Kee Haveli homestay, giving them an opportunity to experience Indian hospitality in a much more personal way. We also have our own transportation fleet with English-speaking drivers, allowing us to create seamless, personalised journeys across India—from local experiences to multi-city travel. Thank you again for your wonderful recommendation. We are thrilled that you and your students chose to make Delhi a special stop on your India journey, and we hope to welcome you back to discover even more of India with our local ambassadors! 🇮🇳 Come as a traveller, leave as a friend. Warm regards, The Masterji Kee Haveli Team

Thoughtful and insightful visit old Delhi

You are told at the beginning that you are with a local friend, not a guide - and walking around Old Delhi with Varun felt like that. We sampled delicious foods and treats, walked through the narrow streets, visited several houses of worship, and gained wonderful insights about local culture and history. Our tour was just two of us - one who had spent a lot of time in Delhi, and the other who was new, and we both enjoyed it and learned new things. Definitely recommend to others! The best tour for curious people. :)

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! We are delighted that walking through Old Delhi with Varun felt less like being on a traditional tour and more like spending time with a local friend. That is exactly the experience we hope to create. ❤️ Old Delhi is best discovered through its people, stories, flavours, hidden lanes, and places of worship—not simply by ticking off a list of monuments. We are especially happy that both of you enjoyed the experience despite having very different levels of familiarity with Delhi. Our aim is always to make the experience meaningful for both first-time visitors and those who already know the city well. Your description of it as “the best tour for curious people” means a lot to us. Curiosity is really at the heart of what we do! This philosophy also extends beyond Delhi. Through Masterji Kee Haveli, we curate local experiences across India, with a dedicated local ambassador in each destination who knows and loves their own city. We believe local people make all the difference. Some of our ambassadors even come from royal families and share their heritage and traditions because of their genuine passion for their home and culture. We also welcome travellers to experience India through our Masterji Kee Haveli homestay, and our own fleet of vehicles with English-speaking drivers helps us create comfortable, personalised journeys across the country. Thank you again for recommending us to fellow curious travellers. We hope to welcome you back someday—there is always another lane, story, flavour, or friendship waiting to be discovered in India! 🇮🇳 Come as a traveller, leave as a friend. Warm regards, The Masterji Kee Haveli Team

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you had a great experience exploring Old Delhi with us and, most importantly, that you had fun while learning about the culture, traditions, daily life, and history of this fascinating part of the city. You captured exactly what we aim to offer: an experience that only a local can provide. Old Delhi is not just about seeing famous landmarks—it is about walking through its narrow streets, meeting people, tasting local flavours, discovering hidden corners, and understanding the stories and traditions that make the city so special. This local-first philosophy is also what we follow across India. We have local ambassadors in different cities, because we believe the people who live there and truly know their city make all the difference. Some of our ambassadors even come from royal families and share their heritage out of genuine passion. Beyond our Old Delhi experiences, we also offer the Masterji Kee Haveli homestay, as well as our own transportation fleet with English-speaking drivers, allowing us to create personalised experiences and journeys across India. Thank you again for recommending us! Exciting tour of Old Delhi

We had wonderful tour of Old Delhi with Raj. He took us right into the thick of things, provided us with fantastic photos to remember the day, and was very hospitable taking us into the haveli for a meal. His personal experience of this amazing area of the city was invaluable, and certainly gave us one of the highlights of our stay in India. Thank you, Raj!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that your Old Delhi experience with Raj became one of the highlights of your stay in India. ❤️ That is exactly what we hope to create—not simply a sightseeing tour, but an opportunity to step into the real Old Delhi, experience its energy, meet its people, taste its food, and understand the stories and traditions that make this part of the city so extraordinary. We are especially happy that Raj’s personal knowledge of the neighborhood, his hospitality, and the photographs he captured helped make the day memorable. And of course, welcoming you into the haveli for a meal is one of our favorite ways to share Indian hospitality! At Masterji Kee Haveli, we strongly believe that local people make all the difference. This is why we have local ambassadors across different cities in India—people who genuinely know, love, and belong to their cities. Some even come from royal families and share their heritage as a passion. Our experiences also extend beyond walking tours. We offer the Masterji Kee Haveli homestay, along with our own transportation fleet and English-speaking drivers, so we can help travellers experience India comfortably and personally across multiple destinations. Thank you again for choosing to discover Old Delhi with us. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to Raj! Come as a traveller, leave as a friend. Warm regards, The Masterji Kee Haveli Team

    Old Delhi Experience

The tour was very interesting. The guide having grown up in the area made the tour much more personal. Definitely a tour worth considering, and you get to see a part of Old Delhi that is not often visited by tourists.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review! We are delighted that you enjoyed exploring Old Delhi with us and especially appreciated having a local who grew up in the neighborhood share the experience with you. We believe this is what makes our Old Delhi experience different from a conventional sightseeing tour. When you explore with someone who has genuine roots in the area, you don't just see Old Delhi—you get to understand its people, traditions, stories, food, culture, and everyday life. And yes, we love taking our guests beyond the usual tourist routes to discover the lesser-seen side of this incredible city. This local approach is something we follow across India. We have local ambassadors in different cities, because we believe locals make all the difference. Some of our ambassadors even come from royal families and share their heritage because of their genuine passion for their city and culture. We also offer the Masterji Kee Haveli homestay, as well as our own transportation fleet with English-speaking drivers, allowing us to create personalised experiences throughout India. Thank you again for recommending us. We hope you will return one day and discover another hidden side of India with one of our local ambassadors! Come as a traveller, leave as a friend. Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Old Delhi Food, Heritage&Cultural Walk with Rickshaw ride to Masterji Kee Haveli cost?

    +

Prices start at $4725 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Old Delhi Food, Heritage&Cultural Walk with Rickshaw ride to Masterji Kee Haveli take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Old Delhi Food, Heritage&Cultural Walk with Rickshaw ride to Masterji Kee Haveli worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 758 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Old Delhi Food, Heritage&Cultural Walk with Rickshaw ride to Masterji Kee Haveli?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Old Delhi Food, Heritage&Cultural Walk with Rickshaw ride to Masterji Kee Haveli?

    +

Around 265 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

    +

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
