Best tour we did in India!

Did an Old Delhi food tour with Aditya while in Delhi - highly recommend! We tried lots of different dishes and learned a ton about Indian food. Aditya was a great guide - very informative and professional. In fact, he was probably the best guide we had across 2 weeks in India. We were nervous about eating street food, but felt very safe on this tour and had no stomach issues. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! 🌟 We’re thrilled to hear that the Old Delhi Food Tour with Chef was such a highlight of your trip. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the variety of dishes, felt safe and comfortable trying street food, and gained new insights into Indian cuisine. Hearing that Aditya was the best guide of your two-week journey truly means a lot. We deeply appreciate your recommendation and would love to welcome you back for more food adventures in the future! 🙏

    New Years Eve Tour

My husband and I booked this tour for New Year's Eve because it was the best day we could schedule it during our time in Delhi. We were the only ones on the tour this particular day and despite being NYE, Chef Aditya took his time with each of the stops, he explained each dish and the history behind them, and also gave us insight into Old Delhi. We are vegetarian and that was not a problem at all. We enjoyed everything we had and this was a great way to try dishes and vendors we would not have on our own. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for choosing to spend your New Year’s Eve with us! 🌟 We’re delighted you and your husband enjoyed the tour and that Chef Aditya could make it special by sharing not only the dishes but also the stories and history of Old Delhi. We’re so glad the vegetarian experience worked out seamlessly and that you discovered flavors and vendors you might have missed otherwise. Your recommendation means a lot, and we’d love to welcome you back for more food adventures whenever you’re in Delhi again! 🙏

    Very memorable day out.

Did this food tour last Christmas and it was superb! A great way to try Indian street food and see Old Delhi, we were taken to the tour guides trusted vendors who prepared the food themselves. Particular favourite was the biscuits cooked over coals! I would highly recommend!

A sensory feast in Old Delhi

Spent an amazing day with Aditya wandering Old and New Delhi and sampling street food as we went. Having a knowledgeable guide is essential in Delhi and Aditya was great, taking us to places we would have had no chance of finding ourselves, negotiating with TukTuk drivers and giving us a history of the places we visited, some of which have been in the same family's hands for 140 years. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Excellent tour, great food, strongly recommend.

Excellent tour with incredible food and history. Our guide, Chef Aditya, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and he took us to several spots a tourist like me would never find (or be brave enough to visit). Took my 11YO daughter, and she loved it, too. And Aditya took special care of her along the way.

Old Delhi Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Old Delhi Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Old Delhi Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Old Delhi Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 88 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Old Delhi Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Old Delhi Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Old Delhi Food Tour?

    +

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Old Delhi Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

    +

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
