Forte de Sao Miguel
With a mannerist style, the São Miguel Arcanjo Fort began to be built in 1577 by D. Sebastião. In 1644, King D. João IV, the Restorer, ordered its remodeling and enlargement. With a privileged location, near the Nazaré promontory, it is currently considered the main observation post of the giant waves at Praia do Norte, which turned Nazaré into a world surf reference. Ivo was the best professor!
We arranged our private tour while in Nazare. Our guide Ivo met us at the Cultural Center and we immediately felt comfortable with him.
