AMAZING Experience! Could not have been better!

We scheduled this tour for 2025, but had a medical emergency, so we could not use our tickets. I can’t tell you how kind and professional the folks at the Empire State Building 🌆🦍🌅☕️ Starbucks reserve tour ended up being! I was told that we could reschedule and also told the timeframe to call back and everything went so smoothly! I really didn’t think it was going to work out, because I had booked the first tour a year in advance and I knew how hard it is to get tickets! The ESB team is seriously awesome! The only thing that might have been more helpful was having a sign posted to tell folks where the entrance is for the early morning tour. There were several of us milling around at 5:30 in the morning, kind of unclear. 🙃 The sunrise over the city was one of the most exciting and memorable moments of any place that we’ve ever been! All of the staff was so kind and professional and international! My husband actually left his phone when we were in the Empire State Building 🌆🦍🌅☕️ museum, enjoying the King Kong exhibit before we left, but he left his phone (we were pretty tired from getting up so early!) I called as soon as we got back to the hotel (the phone tracking said ESB), and sure enough, they had his phone and I was able to get a cab back and retrieve it, pretty much miraculous! We are extremely thankful! The Starbucks staff and the food were exceptional. And the ESB staff went above and beyond and one very kind young man offered to take our picture! One of the best photos of our 8 State trip! Don’t miss this tour! Seeing New York City glowing at night and also seeing it glowing in the sunrise, was priceless!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review! We're delighted that our team could assist you with rescheduling your visit and help make your sunrise experience so memorable. It's especially rewarding to hear that our staff's kindness, from helping recover your husband's phone to capturing a special photo, made such a positive impression. We also appreciate your feedback about the tour entrance signage and will be sure to share it with our team. Thank you for choosing the Empire State Building, and we hope to welcome you back again for another unforgettable visit!

Sunset at Empire State Building

I had a voucher for my birthday from my daughter to visit the Emoire State building. The day she had booked was very rainy and cloudy day. Went to the ticket person. Her name was Sharon and she gave us the best advise and happily changed our tickets for the next day which was a beautiful sunny day. She was so chatty and showed us the pictures etc. the best visit for me as we saw the view on a clear sunny day and enjoyed the sunset view. Thank you Sharon.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted Sharon was able to help make your visit special by recommending a ticket change and ensuring you could enjoy the views on a beautiful clear day. We'll be sure to share your kind words with her. Thank you for visiting, and we look forward to welcoming you back again!

NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.

How much does NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve cost?

+

Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve take?

+

Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.

Is NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 98 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve?

+

Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does NYC Empire State Building Sunrise Experience + Starbucks Reserve start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New York?

+

New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New York?

+

September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New York?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
