Amazing experience
Amazing experience. Great length of tour and our guide couldn't have done more, he was great! Great with the kids and adults alike.

Mostly m'eh. Bad value for money.
I want to make clear that none of this review is about our guide, who really went out of his way to try to fix problems that were not his fault at all. He did an exceptional job and we appreciated him over the course of the night. However, this is a very mid experience. There are several deceptive things in this listing that they do not make clear. First and most importantly, they state that this experience is 3 hours long. What they do not make clear, at all, is that its a roughly 45 minute drive out from the meetup point and 45 minutes back. On top of the instruction time, the time at the end, etc, there is, at most around 30-35 minutes of actual ride time. That ride time itself is very unimpressive as well. They take you on a very well defined trail that has deep grooves already carved into it, meaning you're not really navigating your snowmobile as much as just being on rails. You drive maybe 2km, slowly, out to a big circle where you stand around for about 10 minutes before heading back the exact same way. It felt like an amusement ride, not an experience. There were several other major problems. We were about two minutes late, which, fair, that is on us. But they had already left at that point without contacting us. When we tried to check in, the front desk seemed flustered and unable to find us originally. I feel like since we booked via Viator, it didn't sync to their system correctly and they "lost" us. Eventually they got our awesome guide to come pick us up, but then we had to try to "catch" the rest of the group which involved about an hour of driving around trying to find everyone else, before we finally got out to the camp. This happened because we were two minutes late. It just felt very disorganized. The instruction felt very rushed and they didn't go over everything. Both me and my partner had issues at first with our snowmobiles that could have been easily explained. Finally, temper your expectations about the camp at the end. The "sausage" is just a hot dog with ketchup and mustard. It was fine, but nothing about the food served felt particularly authentic or unique. We didn't have a bad time overall, persay, and all of the guides were great, but considering that it cost over 400 Euro, nearly $500 USD, it absolutely was not a good value for the money. We wouldn't do it again.

Aurora hunting amazing
The snowmobile experience hunting the Northern Light was amazing. We loved our guide Matilda who let us have one of the most outstanding experiences of our life. She was really nice, gave a lot of information about the lapland lifestyle and nature and let us see the amazing Aurora before a really appreciated little barbecue in a tipical tepee.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Northern Lights Tour Snowmobile Driving start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
