The guide took us to an...

The guide took us to an area over looking the airport to look for the northern lights but this was light polluted area and the driver did a couple of laps of the same loop of the forest and when we did drive further out to the other part of the forest to look for the northern lights we only stopped for 5 mins before heading back and when we did see the northern lights on the way back it was a very rushed stop to see them and take photos which was disappointing

Response from the operator: Dear Rebecca, Thank you for taking the time to share your constructive feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet expectations. Our goal is always to provide a memorable and magical Northern Lights experience, and it’s disappointing to know we fell short for you. Regarding the location near the airport, we understand your concern about light pollution. We have to follow the official snowmobile tracks and these allow us to go deeper to the forest. We also regret that the stop during the sighting felt rushed — when the Northern Lights do appear we aim to balance timing of the tour with safety and the best possible visibility. Your feedback is important and will be shared with our team so we can continue improving our tours and ensure a better experience for all future guests. We would love the opportunity to welcome you back in Rovaniemi to provide you with even better experience in the future. Greetings from the Arctic Circle. Warm regards, Dominik Wild About Lapland

This is how to take a moment and make the most of it!

This is how to make the most of a moment. Guide Carlos led our group of 3 to some frozen lakes. We were lucky enough to have fresh snow, where we could "play" around while he built a campfire. Moreover, we were lucky that we had a clear night and were actually able to see the Northern Lights on two occasions! Great experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that Guide Carlos helped you make the most of your moment in the frozen lakes. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed yourself on this tour and you were lucky to see the northern lights on your trip to Lapland. We hope that you keep this experience and us in good memories :) Thank you for choosing our tour and for letting us be a part of such a special moment. We hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable adventures in the future. We have forwarded the positive feedback to your guide Carlos! Best regards, Wild About Lapland Sales Team

Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.

How much does Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $136 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.

Is Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Northern Lights Family-Friendly Snowmobile Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
