What you'll see and do
St. Michan's Church
You might want to steel your nerves before venturing with us to Croppie’s Acre. This long-abandoned site was used as a football pitch in the 20th century. Shocking when you consider that it is a mass grave – the final resting place of hundreds of rebels executed after the 1798 rebellion. If you are of a sensitive disposition, you may well come away feeling disturbed. Sometimes, the spirits here attempt communication!

St. Mary's Abbey
With more than a thousand years of history, Dublin is one of the most haunted cities in the world. Walk through one of the oldest parts of Dublin; the area once known as Oxmantown with its rich haunted history. You will discover the site of Saint Mary’s Abbey; one of the most powerful monastic settlements in Ireland in medieval times, now just a small ruin down an alleyway, passed by thousands of oblivious commuters every day.

The Brazen Head
You will hear the story of Lord Norbury, the infamous and sadistic ‘Hanging Judge’ who presided over the trial of Robert Emmet. Hated in life, in death he returned to continue his reign of terror. Emmet himself might make an appearance, for it is said he can still be found peering out of the window at The Brazen Head, looking to see if those who approach are friend or foe. You will learn the legend of Scaldbrother, the infamous medieval thief whose buried treasure may still lie in a labyrinth of tunnels under Smithfield. Not to mention Billy the Bowl, the 18th century murderer, born without legs, who once terrorized Stoneybatter and Grangegorman. If you are feeling brave enough, we will take you down Hendrick Street, once the site of two of the most haunted houses in Dublin. Between them, nos. 7 and 8 Hendrick Street were home to no fewer than six different ghosts. Demolished in the 1960’s, the houses are long gone, but the ghosts may still linger.

Had a great time!
My mother and I took this walking tour and really loved it. Our tour guide, Darragh, was so passionate and excited to share his historical knowledge of the city and that made the tour so much more fun. We were lucky enough to have a small group of 4 which made it easy to connect with the tour guide and ask questions. I found the tour to be more of a historical tour of the city then a ghost tour. I didn’t feel like someone was trying to sell me on ghosts roaming the city so much as explaining that if there were strange happenings the history of the place justified the experience. I would totally recommend.

Dark history stories
Guide was knowledgeable about the dark history of Dublin and told interesting stories. We felt safe walking around with him and the small group.

No ghost stories.
As we were visiting Dublin on Halloween we booked this activity. Although the host was lovely and he did tell some interesting stories there were no actual ghost stories which was very disappointing. This activity should be advertised as a history walk.
Response from the operator: Thankyou for taking the time to send this review , we loved to hear our guide did there job well, we also take each review serious and will look into this.

Halloween Night
I was traveling through Dublin on Halloween and wanted to do something to celebrate the occasion. The guide was very knowledgeable and the stories shared were really interesting. It felt like a tour that was year round though and I wished they had done something seasonal to acknowledge it was Halloween. For anyone who does choose to do a walking tour on Halloween, just an FYI, there are fireworks set off all across the city and it can be loud and difficult to hear a tour guide. However, as a solo traveler it was a good experience and a fun way of meeting other people. The tour ends at the oldest pub in Dublin so you can get to know the others over a drink.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
North Quay Ghost Walk Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does North Quay Ghost Walk Tour cost?
+
Prices start at €19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does North Quay Ghost Walk Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is North Quay Ghost Walk Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 91 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule North Quay Ghost Walk Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is North Quay Ghost Walk Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book North Quay Ghost Walk Tour?
+
Around 32 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does North Quay Ghost Walk Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Belfast Titanic Dunluce Castle Giants Causeway Tour, Dublin to Belfast Black Cab: Dunluce Castle and Giant's Causeway, Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
