About this experience
Our first stop will be at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, a poignant tribute to the Allied soldiers who lost their lives. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to pay your respects and learn more about the significance of this solemn site. Next, we’ll head to Omaha Beach, where you’ll walk along the sands that witnessed one of the most difficult assaults of D-Day. Your guide will recount the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by American forces during the landing. From Omaha Beach, we’ll continue to Pointe du Hoc, a cliff-top location that was a strategic objective for the U.S. Army Rangers on D-Day. Our journey will then take us to the charming town of Sainte-Mère-Église, famous for the story of paratrooper John Steele, whose parachute became entangled in the church steeple during the airborne assault.

Audrey was a wonderful...
Audrey was a wonderful guide. She made sure we went to the cemetary first before it was busy, gave us lots of great information there and at Omaha and Utah beaches plus plenty of time to explore on our own. The tour and Audrey specifically was great and we definitely recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! I really enjoyed spending the day with you. Starting at the cemetery before it got too busy was definitely the right choice, and I’m glad you appreciated having both the historical explanations and some time to yourselves at each site. It was genuinely lovely meeting you both!

Absolutely amazing 4 day private tour!
Norman with Noresta Tours was an absolutely fantastic guide during our time in France! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and made the experience fun and memorable for the whole family. He was especially wonderful with our kids—patient, personable, and full of great humor that kept everyone entertained. Looking at cows will continue to make me hungry 😜 and my son will likely ask me to ask Norman to send the helicopter whenever he gets tired of walking! He was also extremely accommodating and helpful with our large, heavy luggage, going above and beyond to make things as easy and comfortable as possible for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Norman’s knowledge, professionalism, warmth, and sense of humor made our tour truly special. We highly recommend Norman and Noresta Tours to anyone visiting France—you’ll be in excellent hands!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re so happy Norman made the experience memorable for the whole family and we’ll make sure he remembers the cows and the helicopter jokes! 😄 It means a lot to hear how much you appreciated his help, humour, and care throughout the trip. We hope to welcome you all back someday!

Fantastic DDay tour w/Dylan, extremely knowledgeable guide,
We were picked up from our hotel right on time by Dylan, our guide and Andrea, our driver. Dylan was a wealth of knowledge on the subject of WWII and specifically DDay. My husband is a history buff and Dylan was able to match his level of knowledge. We toured Point Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, Utah, Arromanches and were able to walk through some of the remaining German bunkers. It was absolutely fascinating. Of course, we were both incredibly moved by the tour of the American Cemetery. Dylan even had knowledge of individual soldiers. We really enjoyed our time with Dylan and Andrea and highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: What a wonderful review to receive! We’re especially glad Dylan could keep up with your husband’s passion for WWII history and add some lesser-known stories along the way. From the bunkers to the beaches and the American Cemetery, it sounds like you had a truly memorable day with Dylan and Andrea. Thank you for recommending us! Audrey

Amazing day in Normandy
Met van and guide on the port. Both driver and guide were very professional and friendly. Audrey the guide explained all about D-Day as we walked through the sites, beaches and American Cemetery. Seeing history first hand helped to understand what happened over 70 years ago. The cemetery is now an UNESCO site! I would definitely recommend this exciting family and friends.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! It was a pleasure to guide you through these historic places and share the stories behind them. Seeing the beaches and the American Cemetery in person certainly brings history to life. We’re delighted you enjoyed the day and truly appreciate your recommendation! Audrey

Incredible D Day experience
Norman was an incredible tour guide, he shared a wealth of knowledge and told many stories to help us truly understand and appreciate all the soldiers and civilians went through with D Day and the days after. Easy transportation and he really tailored the trip to the sites we wanted to spend the most time visiting. Also had a wonderful lunch recommendation part way through the trip. Would definitely recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for this wonderful review! We’re so glad Norman helped bring the history and personal stories of D-Day to life, while also giving you the flexibility to spend more time at the places that mattered most to you. And we’re happy the lunch recommendation was a hit too! We truly appreciate your recommendation Audrey

Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bayeux.
How much does Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector) cost?
+
Prices start at $1007 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bayeux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector) take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bayeux is not rushed.
Is Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 100 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bayeux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector)?
+
Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bayeux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bayeux and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Normandy: Private Tour of the D-Day Beaches (American Sector) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bayeux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bayeux?
+
On Outty we rank every Bayeux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Omaha and Utah beaches, Normandy American D-Day Experience - Group tour from Bayeux, Omaha Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bayeux?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bayeux?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
