    About this experience

Our signature tasting; a fun introduction to the secrets of Greek wine. We start by familiarising ourselves with the basic principles of tasting wine. The unique characteristics of each of the main wine regions are discussed to help you to understand how local terroir contributes to the particular flavor of each wine tasted. As we do this, we sample five of Greece’s flagship wines, each from a different region, three white and two red. While discussing the many possible food pairings, we offer local artisanal cheeses to enhance our experience of the wine.

Wine tasting evening overlooking the Acropolis

We had a wonderful evening with somellier Marika, in her gorgeous home overlooking the Acropolis. She provided some meze while we tasted some Greek wines from local varieties all over the country. Afterwards, we were invited out onto her terrace, looking out at the beautiful lights of the Acropolis. It was a perfect evening, creating wonderful memories.

Fantastic Introduction to Greek Wines in a Beautiful Location

Marika offers a fantastic wine tasting experience in an unbeatable location. As a sommelier with extensive knowledge of Greek wine, she was an amazing host. We had an opportunity to taste and learn about five different types of wine, both red and white. The tastings were plentiful, and the cheese, fruit and nuts chosen to accompanying them were thoughtfully selected and delicious. We ended the evening talking and drinking more wine on Marika's balcony, overlooking the Acropolis. I've done many wine tastings in my travels, and Marika's Noble Greeks experience was one of the best. I recommend it to anyone who's traveling through Athens and enjoys wine.

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a complementary review! It was a pleasure having you all here for such a lovely evening!

Expertly hosted wine tasting and a wonderful evening!

What a great evening, the perfect combination of learning, savouring and enjoying ourselves! An excellent selection of Greek wine varietals expertly explained by our host sommelier Marica, and paired with delicious local cheeses and fruits. We learned a lot and met some great people at what was a truly social event, most of us stayed on well past the official close of the tasting itself and enjoyed another glass of wine on the terrace looking up to the Acropolis. It also made a wonderful start to our whole evening before going on to an Athens style late dinner nearby in Koukaki :)

Response from the operator: Indeed a lovely evening with lovely people, thank you & hope to see you again!

Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier cost?

    +

Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Noble Greeks Acropolis Wine Tasting with Private Sommelier start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
