What you'll see and do
Sintra National Palace
Here you will see the National Palace of Sintra - seen only from the outside without entrance - and you will know some of its characteristics, especially those that are no longer in sight and which made it one of the great manor houses of Europe in the years 1500 In addition, you will also hear about human beings from the past who, in addition to feeling the cold, the warmth, the love and the hating that we feel these days, have left their name engraved on history for more than 500 years. And throughout the night the words of these will surprise you - to your mind and heart - in the memories of times already lost.

Along our climb up the mountain (the total effort will be very similar to spend an entire afternoon strolling in and around Sintra) there will be stop-points in which - besides resting - you will see the night landscape around you and , more than that, will be, through my words, surprised by the accounts that were written in history and that will make you feel the way people in the past felt the most mystical places: apparitions of religious chronicles, visions in dreams consummated in reality , buried treasure beliefs, and blinding rays falling from the sky. All this comes from my research work on the Local History of Sintra, with special focus on the religious chronicles and memoirs of foreign travelers written several centuries ago.

Centro Historico de Sintra
Descending from the mountain, we will go to the meeting point, to the Historic Center of Sintra, where you will be able to observe in the mountains ahead of you the path you have taken and where you will record the memory of a night which, speaking of many others from the past, will accompany you throughout your life.

Captivating and Worthwhile
The night walk with Miguel was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. His stories were captivating, well researched and adapted to our interests. The walk was paced well and we enjoyed the evening atmosphere in the forest (which included many fireflies and the sounds of owls). Sintra itself was also beautiful and quiet at night.

Night Adventure in Sintra
A magical and unforgettable experience at Monte da Lua!Taking the night walk with Miguel Boim ("The Walker of Sintra") was an absolutely fantastic family experience.Miguel is an excellent storyteller. It shares deep historical knowledge in a unique way, making us feel as if we were actually experiencing the past. The scenario of Sintra gave the framework of excellence, the breeze of the night and the mystical fog of Mount da Lua created the perfect atmosphere for this adventure. We took our 12-year-old son, who loved it. Five stars!

A Journey in Time
Miguel Boim has a rare gift: turns a walk into a journey in time. His deep knowledge of Portugal’s history, combined with a genuinely captivating narrative capability, makes every stop on the mountain a revelation. The night we took this walk was cloudy — and that changed everything. The dramatic atmosphere amplified every story told, creating a truly immersive experience. Markant. I recommend without hesitation.

Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sintra.
How much does Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain cost?
+
Prices start at $62 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sintra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain take?
+
Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sintra is not rushed.
Is Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sintra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sintra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sintra and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Night Walk from the Castle's Ghosts to the Apparitions of the Mountain start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sintra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sintra?
+
On Outty we rank every Sintra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Tour Sintra from Lisbon Palaces of Pena and Regaleira, Private Sintra Tour Palaces and Coast by Vintage Car or Jeep, Sintra Historical Jeep Adventure - Palaces & Secret Routes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sintra?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sintra?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
