Huge disappointment
I was expecting a double decker tour where they provide earphones and you listen to prerecorded tour guide in your selected language as I've done in the past in other countries. When we got on board, there was no one passing out earphones. Instead, we were directed to our seats and the employee walked away. I called him back to ask him about earphones and he moved us to another seat, handed us earphones, and told us the device should work. Unfortunately, the prerecorded guides we were listening to were of such terrible sound quality. Sometimes all we could hear was static. Other times it was so low we couldn't hear anything. Not even halfway through the one hour tour, mine stopped working completely and I had to share earphones with my friend. To top it off, halfway through the tour, there were passengers at the back of the bus that for some reason decided to be loud and obnoxious for the rest of the tour by yelling at people on the street, being loud and rude for no apparent reason, and no staff came to stop them. I usually enjoy double decker tours but this one was a huge disappointment. I HIGHLY suggest going with a different company.
Response from the operator: Dear value customer Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience with our Hop-On Hop-Off tour did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the issues with the audio guide and earphones. We understand that clear and reliable commentary is an important part of the sightseeing experience, and the poor sound quality and malfunctioning earphones clearly affected your enjoyment of the tour. We are reviewing our audio equipment and service procedures to prevent this from happening again. We are also sorry that our staff did not assist you proactively when you first boarded and that the disruptive behavior of other passengers was not properly addressed during the tour. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will remind our team to be more attentive and responsive to passengers throughout the journey. Your feedback is valuable to us and will be shared with our operations team for immediate improvement. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to provide you with the comfortable and enjoyable sightseeing experience you expected. Kind regards, Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam Team

No guide or Audio provided, made this just become a drive around Ho Chi Minh
This tour promised a lot and delivered little. We were supposed to be provided with an audio guide and there was a plug in at each seat where you could connect and select your language etc, however we were never provided with the headsets. When we asked the driver why not he just waved us away and pretended like he didn't understand english. So we saw lots of lovely buildings/bridges/streets, but had no idea of their significance or what we were looking at. Very disappointing.
Response from the operator: Dear value customer Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet the standard we aim to provide. We are particularly sorry that you were not provided with the audio guide headsets and that your request for assistance was not handled appropriately by our driver. We fully understand how disappointing it must have been to visit the city’s landmarks without being able to learn about their history and significance. This is certainly not the level of service we expect from our team. We are reviewing this incident with our operations staff and reminding our drivers and crew that every passenger should receive proper assistance, especially when requesting the included audio guide service. We truly appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Your feedback helps us identify areas where we need to improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Kind regards, Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam Team

Best way to see the city
Didn't use audio. This is the best way to see the main parts of the city, great at night. Great value for money.

Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.
How much does Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City cost?
+
Prices start at $8 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.
Is Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 76 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Night Bus Tour in Ho Chi Minh City start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
