❌ Misleading & Disappointing Tour
❌ Misleading & Disappointing Tour We were really looking forward to this trip, which we had booked through Viator before starting our travels to Georgia. The inclusions were clearly mentioned in the title itself, which gave us confidence in booking. Unfortunately, what followed was one of the most disappointing tour experiences we’ve ever had. At the meeting point, our guide simply handed us a card preloaded with some cash for the two-way cable car ride and told us that this was all that was included. After that, we were left completely on our own. This was shocking, as the booking had clearly mentioned three tastings of lemonade among the inclusions, yet the guide seemed clueless. When we raised this, he made some half-hearted checks with his company but couldn’t resolve it. We then tried contacting the number mentioned on our booking multiple times. Sadly, the lady who answered kept repeating the same line—that our booking only included the cable car ride—and offered no real help. Despite our best efforts to explain, she refused to acknowledge the issue. To make matters worse, we asked about visiting their office to sort things out but were told there was no office to go to. As avid travellers who frequently book tours worldwide, this was the first time we felt truly cheated. Why would anyone pay INR 9,081 simply to receive a prepaid card for a cable car ride, which we could have easily arranged ourselves at a fraction of the cost? If the company had no intention of providing the additional inclusions, they should not have advertised them in the first place. The false claims felt dishonest and misleading, and the whole experience left us frustrated and exasperated. The truth is: there is no tour required for Mtatsminda Park. It’s easy to enjoy on your own without paying extra to a company. Getting there itself is part of the fun—you can either take the cable car or the funicular, which is actually one of the main attractions, offering beautiful views as you ride up or down. We eventually went on to explore Mtatsminda Park ourselves using the card. The park is set atop a mountain with stunning views and is a pleasant place to relax with family or friends. Most of the rides are for children, though a few—like the giant wheel, roller coaster, and space-shot ride—are suitable for adults. The park does require a fair amount of walking on inclines, which can be challenging for older visitors. Facilities like the WC are located at one end, so it’s best to check the map upon entering. In summary: the park is worth visiting, especially if you have kids and also for adults who like a short break away from the city. I strongly recommend cross-checking inclusions prior to booking to avoid the misleading advertisement of inclusions. The false claims felt dishonest and misleading, and the whole experience left us frustrated and exasperated. Avoid booking this tour through this local company. Their misleading inclusions, lack of accountability, and false advertising spoiled what should have been a smooth experience. In fact, Viator should not use this particular tour offered by Budget Friendly Tours, as it is damaging Viator’s reputation by cheating travellers.
Response from the operator: We already explained several times that this tour has two options: 1️⃣ Cable car tickets only 2️⃣ Cable car tickets with tastings You booked the tickets-only option but kept insisting on tastings. Nobody misled or cheated you. We don’t know how to explain this more simply—please understand that reading the tour details carefully is essential before booking.

Beautiful views
It was opened in 1958 and operated until 1990 with Soviet-era machinery. It was completely rebuilt a year ago, after 34 of abando. Beautiful lower station with two overlapping ramps for access. The city views fantastic.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your insightful review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful views and the stunning architecture of the station. It’s fascinating to learn about its history and the incredible reconstruction that took place. The blend of old Soviet-era machinery with the modern touches truly makes it a unique experience. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring, and we look forward to welcoming you again on another adventure!

Visiting Mtatsimnda View Point
We had a wonderful time visiting the Mtatsminda viewpoint, park, and café by taking the cable car. Nika and George were incredibly helpful; they were friendly and patient, sharing a wealth of information about the city's culture, cuisine, and dining options. They were also kind enough to take our pictures and share them with us at the end of the trip. I highly recommend taking this tour with these two lovely tour leaders so you can truly enjoy your experience.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tbilisi.
How much does New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tbilisi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tbilisi is not rushed.
Is New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tbilisi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tbilisi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tbilisi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does New Cable Car Mtatsminda with Three Lagidze Lemonade Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tbilisi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tbilisi?
+
On Outty we rank every Tbilisi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tbilisi:Evening Walking & Talking Tour with Wine & Boat Ride, Tbilisi:Mtskheta,Jvari,Bazaar, wine tasting,Chronicles of Georgia, Kakheti Wine Region Tour + 10 Premium Wine Tastings & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tbilisi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tbilisi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
