Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Day Tour from Munich

Decent tour but very rushed. Bus AC was moldy.

The bus with License plate M AU2150 AC unit was so moldy. I am highly allergic to mold. I sat 2 3 seats behind the driver. After 30 minutes my throat got sore and my eyes started to itch. In all we spent about 5 hours on the Bus. The AC unit condenser, filter and vents need to be disinfected! Had to take prednisone and Tylenol to help relieve my symptoms. Was sick for 2 days after this tour. Avoid this bus if you are allergic to molds! Our tour guide on the bus was very good. I think her name was Jacquelyn. She explained a lot of Munich history and sights along the way. Castle tour only lasts 30 minutes. Very rushed and no time to ask questions to the castle tour guide. Suggest you pay the 3.50 euros to take shuttle bus up the hill to the castle that gets off at Mary Bridge to take a photo of the castle. There are no photos allowed inside the castle. Then your have about 1.5 hours to walk down the hill and have a rushed lunch in town before preceding back to the bus. Then a 45 minute stop at a beautiful village called Oberammergau. I wish we had mote time to explore. Then onto Linderhof palace. Another 30 minute tour of the inside. Had less than 1 hour to see the palace. No time to really explore the extensive grounds and Grotto. This was a VIP tour, so the entrance tickets were included and snack on the bus. After the Linderhof palace, we were all offered a bottle of German beer. The tour was ok, but the tours inside the castle and palace are so rushed and you can’t even take pictures. It is an ok tour. Since getting the locations would require a car or a train and Uber rides. I just hope the disinfect the moldy AC unit.

Spectacular castles Johnny, definitely worth the visit.

Spectacular! Must to visit these castles and explore the wonders inside these two elegant castles. Huge shout out to Johnny and The bus driver. Johnny provided us with great recommendations and true stories of the castles history.

Highly recommended Day Trip from Munich to Neuschwanstein and Lindehoff Castles

PROS Our tour guide Mr Faizan and driver Mr Vlad were excellent. Mr Faizan went out of his way to make the experience memorable by acting as a tour guide from the minute we left Munich right up to when we returned by pointing out every since interesting landmark and sharing the history of it with us. The bus was very spacious and comfortable and we appreciated the snack bar with coffee and bagels and snacks on the house. Mr Faizan and Mr Vlad were very hospitable and went out of our way to make the experience memorable. Our group was treated to a cold beer at the end of the trip which was very welcome after the long walk! The entire tour was also run with clockwork precision down the minute and we left and arrived exactly on time at every destination and it was obvious Mr Faizan was planning every stop carefully to ensure we got the best view at the best time as he was anticipating in advance what time other tours would be at the same spots and adjusting accordingly. It all worked exactly as he predicted, as well. CONS Timing was extremely tight which is understandable however we would have liked a bit more flexibility in terms of timing especially during the stop at Oberammagau which is such a picturesque town, it would have been nice to walk around a little more. For the castle tours, we were informed that only the official castle tour guides can do these tours hence Mr Faizan was not allowed to accompany us. In Neuschwanstein, there was no live guide, we walked from room to room listening to an audio recording. There were also no photos allowed whatsoever which was disappointing. In Lindehoff, there was a live guide who was fluent in English and very pleasant and knowledgeable, however, her accent and the acoustics in the rooms made it quite difficult to catch what she was explaining. Most of our group missed the valuable insights she was sharing.

Great experience, lovely castles

It was great and we had plenty of time to enjoy both castles, especially Neuschwanstein. Muhammad, our guide, was very nice and helped us all the way.
