My trip to Neuschwanstein was a sheer delight, in large part because of our wonderfully warm, insightful and passionate tour guide Gerda. While the sights of the castles and Bavarian countryside were positively stunning, the narrative that Gerda provided gave an intimate context to the story of Neuschwanstein. As a college professor, I know how challenging it can be to provide new content to a group. Gerda was clear, steady and deeply knowledgeable about Bavaria, King Ludwig and the dramatic story of Neuschwanstein. When we asked her questions, I could sense her excitement for the topic, which was contagious. She was also very conscientious in covering notable history from the moment we departed the bus station in Munich to the final stop. This tour was great! Our guide, Jay, was very knowledgeable, and explained everything nicely. The castles were amazing and Mary's bridge is a must see! I highly recommend this tour, it was very stress and hassle free. Leave the driving and time management to the team. The bus was huge and had a bathroom. Thank you Jay for a great time!

A Wonderful and Well-Organized Day Trip
We had a wonderful experience on the Gray Line tour to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. The trip was very convenient and well organized, and having the transportation and schedule planned in advance made the whole day easy and stress-free. A special thank you to our guide Monika and our driver Bobby. Bobby was very friendly, drove safely, and gave us helpful recommendations for places to have lunch. Monika was an excellent guide: knowledgeable, approachable and engaging, with excellent English. She shared lots of interesting information about the castles, Bavarian history and the scenery along the way, and was always happy to answer our questions. The castles and surrounding scenery were beautiful. Our only real disappointment was the Neuschwanstein castle tour, which felt quite short and underwhelming, especially considering how much we had been looking forward to visiting it. However, this seemed to be more related to the castle's own guided tour than to Gray Line itself. We also would have liked to be able to take photos inside the castles. Overall, we were very happy with the trip and would definitely recommend it. Monika and Bobby in particular made the experience enjoyable, and the tour was a very convenient way to visit the castles without having to organize the transportation ourselves.

Wonderful day
Excellent tour of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castle. The guide (Felicia) on the coach was fantastic and gave us a lot of history and facts. She outlined a detailed plan of the day with timings so we can plan our trip. We chose not to buy castle tour tickets and instead used the time to tour the outside of the castles and gardens on our own and climb uphill to Marienbrucke (Mary’s bridge) for a gorgeous view of the fairytale castle. The line for the bus was massive so we walked uphill (this can be tiring so need trainers) and there is also a line for the bridge but it is worth the wait! As we were on our own, we took some time to paddle in Lake Alpsee and take a pedal boat around the lake. A lovely day had by all. Top tip: many places in this region are cash only so bring lots of Euros!
