The best way to see the castles!! Book with them!
We were traveling as a three-generation family and drove down from Munich to see the castles. I was overwhelmed trying to figure out how to coordinate seeing both castles and thankfully found this tour company. Amir was the kindest and most helpful guide who tailored his approach to the needs of all of our family members- including rest and snack breaks! And he was able to keep us all entertained with just the right amount of history and magical stories. He shared great restaurant recommendations for lunch before our tour, and he made the day so easy and enjoyable, whisking us right up to the gate for tours and knowing all the perfect photo spots. He *made* our castle experience, and we were so thankful for him!
Response from the operator: Wow, reading this made my whole day. Thank you. Honestly, tours like yours are why I love what I do. Watching grandparents, parents, and kids all discover the castle together, at a pace that worked for everyone, was such a pleasure for me too. Thank you for trusting me with your family's big day, and for the lovely lunch chat about restaurants — I hope you got to try one of my recommendations! Wishing you all many more adventures together, and maybe I'll see you again someday in Bavaria. Thank you for choosing Special Private Tours. Kind regards, Amir 🏰

Well Executed and Taken Care Of!
We had a wonderful experience with Amir today! He was excellent with communication before and during our tour. His knowledge is extensive and we found the tour very informative and engaging. His English was also impeccable. Spending time with a consummate professional such as Amir, helps the curious traveler uncover the beauty and depth of Bavarian history! I highly recommend this company and look forward to working with them again!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Amy, this really warmed my heart to read! It was such a pleasure spending that time with you and sharing the history of these castles — you clearly have a real curiosity for it, and that made the whole tour more fun for me too. Comments like "impeccable English" always make me smile a little, since English isn't my first language, so hearing it landed that way means a lot! I'd love to welcome you back anytime you're in Bavaria again. Until then, safe travels, and thank you for the kind recommendation. Kind regards, Amir 🏰

Great tour.
Our guide did a nice job of navigating us to and at the castles. Got us in the right spots at the right times and gave us info on what to expect next.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Timothy, for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting you, and we would love to welcome you back for another tour soon. Best regards, Amir

Neuschwanstein private tour was fantastic
Emir was an excellent guide. His knowledge of the castle and history prior to the skip the line tour of the tour made the tour of the interior more meaningful. We were able to look for the special things as we did the guided tour. Amir engages our 10 yr old grandson in the conversation asking him questions and sharing information that was relatable to his age. We had a very memorable day trip. Thank you Emir. Highly recommend! If you are luck to have Emir you will be blessed.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a joy to have you and your family along for the tour, and I especially loved engaging with your 10-year-old grandson — it's always so rewarding to see history come alive for younger guests. I'm glad the context I shared beforehand made the interior tour even more meaningful. I hope you all had a fantastic trip and look forward to welcoming you back!

I would do it again
Beautiful scenery, drive and experience. The views of the castles are amazing. Our guide, Lucas, was fantastic and very informative. This was by far the highlight of our trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and stunning views of the castles. Lucas will be thrilled to know that his guidance and informative storytelling made this the highlight of your trip. It means the world to us that you'd do it again, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another unforgettable adventure!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen cost?
+
Prices start at $552 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Private Tour: Munich or Füssen start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
