Our guide, Nektarios, provided a wonderful day for us!
We had a wonderful day with Nektarios as our guide. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel, we knew it would be a fantastic day. He greeted us warmly, gave us a wonderful introduction to Naxos Island on the ride to our starting point, and got us set up with hiking poles. He guided us on the trail hiking at our comfortable pace and assisted with difficult spots with steep inclines/declines and tricky rocks. Nektarios was so knowledgeable about the area, history, Greek mythology, health, and all the trees and vegetation we saw on the paths. We learned so much from him and he thoroughly answered our questions. He always made sure we were happy and comfortable at each of our stops. Nektarios is such a personable man and easy to talk with. We had a delightful day!

Best Hike Ever!!
We had the most wonderful time with our guide David. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Truly made us feel even closer to the Greek Culture and history. And he was kind enough to lend me his walking sticks.

Loved this Hike!
So this was our 2nd trip with Trekking Hellas during the week we spend on Naxos. And we highly recommend this one as well. This was a great walk/hike where we again learned so much more about the history of Naxos. We stopped and ate fruit off trees, visited churches, pet a horse. Ending with olive oil tasting which was amazing and we were able to purchase some to take back home. At this point our daughter was feeling a little overheated/exhausted and our guide David was so kind to sit with her outside in the shade while my husband and I finished the tasting. Definitely went above and beyond. We had a fantastic lunch in the last village and even had leftovers to take back to the hotel. This was a wonderful experience and we would definitely book with Trekking Hellas again. Everything from the initial booking process all the way through the actual hike was such a smooth process. Highly recommend.

Wonderful way to experience Naxos!
What a wonderful experience! Anastasia guided us from Halki through farms and villages in the Hagea valley, and back to Halki. We stopped to chat with a friendly mule, to pick figs and grapes along the way, and to admire breathtaking scenery, churches and villages. It’s not mountain climbing, but there’s a lot of uphill walking, so be prepared. You get a real sense for the island’s culture and life, very different from the beaches and Chora. Highly recommended!

Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naxos.
How much does Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naxos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naxos is not rushed.
Is Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naxos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naxos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naxos and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Naxos: Countryside and Byzantine Churches Half-Day Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naxos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naxos?
+
On Outty we rank every Naxos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Naxos:Half-day cooking class at Basiliko Farm, Naxos Perivoli Farm Experience & Wood-fire Cooking Class, Naxos Kayak Tour to Rina Cave with Snorkeling and Homemade lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naxos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naxos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
